Eric Young Talks Triple H, Leaving WWE, Coming Back To IMPACT
Added 2023-08-06 22:35:18 +0000 UTCFightful's Wrestling Perspective Podcast is back! This week Dennis Farrell and Lars Frederiksen's guest is former IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young. The former NXT Superstar would talk to us on various topics.
Eric Young talked to us about leaving the WWE and mentioned that he still has a very good relationship with Triple H. Eric said the idea that they had planned, added that he was very excited about working with two people that he knows very well, and friendly with, and something that could have been very special in his opinion. He would not go into detail because he said he did not want to go to court. Fightful has previously reported it to be related to Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas.
Young said he signed up to play, but they [WWE] changed ownership and, professionally, chose not to. He said he’s lucky and blessed to be able to choose not to.
Young said that IMPACT is a special place to work and that Scott D’Amore, Anthem, and the IMPACT staff created a unique work environment for creative people, people with something to offer, and people that love pro wrestling.
Young told us that he doesn’t watch a lot of modern wrestling. He said he does not want what's popular or happening right now to affect how he approaches wrestling. He will approach wrestling how he’s always approached it, and that's as a fan.
Eric said between the time leaving for WWE last year and returning to IMPACT, he was on his longest layoff since 1997. He said he was nervous about coming back.
Eric spoke to us about possibly being a producer down the road, now that this is his third time back with the company. He said to us that he is under an agreement with Scott D'Amore right now.
Young reflected on his career expressed his happiness and gratitude for the opportunities, and discussed his desire for versatility and new experiences. He also discussed the evolving nature of storytelling in pro wrestling.
Eric would talk about the legacy of Adrian Street. Young also spoke about a previous knee injury and his Fantasy Football Talk Show on FTN Fantasy,” Set Bet Spike,” with Chris Meaney.

SRS- any thoughts on whether Michael Hayes should be moved off of the Bloodline matches and segments? Getting way too repetitive and could use a fresh set of eyes.

2023-08-07 02:14:26 +0000 UTCIt really sucks that EY became another casualty (apparently) to Vince’s meddling. Levesque brought him back for a reason, even if some of those plans kept getting pushed back. While I wish no ill directly on people, I do hope this spine surgery forces Vince to just collect a paycheck and stay out of things. Not holding my breath, but can always hope.
