Becky Lynch's WWE contract is up in 2024
Added 2023-04-17 20:15:08 +0000 UTCBecky Lynch has the wrestling world buzzing after tweeting that she wouldn’t be at the April 17 WWE Raw, but she might be in store for some big time money sooner than later.
Becky Lynch, one of the top stars in pro wrestling and a WrestleMania main eventer, legitimately is not set to be at the April 17 episode of Raw. When we inquired within WWE we were told that she was originally scheduled to be at WWE Raw as of last Monday, but WWE sources had indicated that there are “no issues to their knowledge between Becky Lynch and WWE.” She’s been dealing with a minor foot injury, which has been exacerbated recently.
With Lynch dropping her verification badge and changing her display name to her real name, Rebecca Quin, many inquiries were made to Fightful about her current status with WWE. We’re told that Lynch signed a brand new deal upon returning to the company in 2021, and her time off for maternity leave is not a factor. Lynch signed a three-year deal that currently expires in June 2024. Thus far, WWE sources tell us the two have not entered negotiations for a new deal. There are several deals that are up in 2024, as WWE had signed much of the roster to four year contracts then. At the time, WWE was signing and extending talent way before their expiration.
Lynch has already also made connections within Hollywood, and was slated to appear at the end of a Marvel movie at one point. She's also repped by CAA, a gigantic agency.

There's a big difference between Saraya & Sasha/Becky as far as working at a high level & working WrestleMania main events. Similar levels of fame but not similar for having many great matches. For the most part to get over in AEW you need to have memorable matches which Saraya hasn't done.

2023-04-17 22:20:15 +0000 UTCThis is such an interesting and fascinating situation (I’m high). In terms of Pro Sports, it’s common to “hold out” when negotiating a new deal. In WWE, this could very well be seen similarly by publicly not showing at a show. I honestly feel like it’s on the agencies (CAA, Wesserman, fucking ENDEAVOR) to push against the Independent Contractor designation, for more guaranteed money and union representation. It’ll be interesting to see how Endeavor balanced the act between being the representative for so many fighters and wrestlers while legitimately owning UFC & WWE (where WWE holds talent for a generally longer time than UFC, similar to how NFL/NBA players stay on a team)
