''Speedball'' Mike Bailey Interview Notes

‘’Speedball’’ Mike Bailey

Speedball Mike Bailey will be the guest on this weekend's episode of The Wrestling Perspective Podcast with Lars Frederiksen and Dennis Farrell. They spoke on various topics.

- Bailey was asked about the numerous “top wrestlers you never heard of lists” he was part of. He said it flattered him, because he considered a push of sorts. He was more anxious about being on the lists of “top wrestlers you have actually heard of.”

- He said the reason he wasn’t on those lists was because of the five-year-ban he had from entering the United States. https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/exclusives/speedball-mike-bailey-discusses-breaking-out-names-his-favorite-matches-his-career?preview=104144

- He said if you look at who worked PWG in 2016, many of those wrestlers all signed with WWE or AEW. He believes he would have been working in the United States sooner, but he's grateful for the career path he's had.

- Bailey said he believes the psychology is Professional Wrestling is extremely misunderstood. He broke it down as if he had to be a different wrestler if he was in Japan or if he was wrestling in Mexico.

- He said growing up he was a fan of Amazing Red and AJ Styles. He said when he started wrestling his inspirations were Kevin Steen (Owens) El Generico (Sami Zayn). He said Steen, El Generico, Bret, and Owen Hart are who he thinks the best wrestlers from Canada are.

- He said Josh Alexander was one of the biggest reasons why he joined IMPACT Wrestling and as he's stated previously in interviews before he signed his IMPACT off the back of Josh Alexander.

- "Speedball" said Kenny King was the one who came up with the Pit Fight idea.

-  Mike said if he would have signed with a promotion for a lot of money and they wanted him to "literally be a clown who farts around and how he moves is with his farts, he would still be good at pro wrestling."
