Awesome, so glad I finally got caught up! I'm loving the draconic influences Mark has... I wonder if the Aurora thing is like a human equivalent of Addavein being interested in powerful kaiju? That kaiju-call reaction is surely because of the talzarki thing as well Both Okuana and Aluatha being involved is slightly worrying, considering Okuana's recent purchasing of adamantium and Mark being adamantium-blooded. I hope Aluatha didn't spill the beans in hopes of getting in on whatever Okuana is doing with all that metal, although I think it's a bit unlikely because making such an overt move on Mark for his adamantium seems very bold, but who knows at this point. What a shitstorm. Lol at the mayor really not being bothered enough to go along with it. Hopefully there are no ulterior motives on their end... one can hope

I wouldn't be surprised if his attraction to Aurora after her Kaiju slaying was partly inspired by his dragon side being attracted to power... or maybe Mark just has a type. I was REALLY expecting/hoping for a Fae from the Summer or Winter court to pop up during that whole ritual thing. I don't know if they even exist in this novel, but here I loudly proclaim that Reeni might secretly be a Fae. Turning the whole debacle into a hero vs villain thing is a brilliant way to get around the trap. Anyway lovely chapter, glad Tartu got punched.

It only happened because of them in the first place, can and would it continue if they(mainly Elliot) quit? Not that they should or would, but it would be a pretty good bargaining chip. If his “heroics” at the settlement are anything to go by he’s not going to pass muster as a hero somewhere with a more well developed program with actual oversight. It’s just a tangential petty hope, being a hero seems important to Tartu and I don’t think he should get that.
