Totally agree. Blows me away that Erik even is considering I’m going to Oceanside to visit him soon. He KNOWS that kingin hunts wizards more zealously than other dragons to use and kill. He’s even felt threatened by the dragon before already. And kingin is like the most powerful person on the planet as rozettas second. Tons of +50 free points being passed to him for completing those special quests too. Like... if I was Erick I would stay the hell away from kingin for all always. He doesn’t leave the island, less he become vulnerable to a bunch of dragons. Stay away. Also... Trying to kill an ancient timeless dragon that has surely been hunted by tons of other dragons in similar fashion on his island is such a bad idea. How many traps and ways to kill intruders do you think he’s set up by now? No. Stay away. Forever. Even if Erick thinks his privacy ward is enough it isn’t. The dragon can manipulate the blue boxes themselves and I’m still convinced Erick should have been more skeptical and remade his prismatic wars after kingin touched it. Probably stole something important or added permanent permissions for himself. Like at that point Erick already didn’t trust kingin, why didn’t he ever remake it? He’d have to wait a day. And that’s all assuming kingin doesn’t have some extra way of just knowing if someone’s a wizard. Just. Stay away. It’s a bad idea all around. I was so relieved when Jane got off that island. I get stressed whenever people I love in this book visit that place

2022-02-17 23:46:57 +0000 UTCTo both replies: "Whole of Oceanside" means what exactly? An acamdemy of mediocre students and a few competent ones, and some connections to "some" arkmages. A straight attack negates pretty much all of those advantages. Yes, the Headmaster is a stabilizing force, but that is the position, not the person. Once eliminated, another arkmage can easily fill that position almost the same. Also, Rozeta isnt protecting him as she cannot interact in the physical world. But if one son brutally killed another, i dont understand why she would defend him anyways. In the end, there is no "because of this reason, he ABSOLUTELY should not be killed" in my opinion.

2022-02-14 17:03:23 +0000 UTCWell, he is quite powerful himself, with the whole of Oceanside to support him, and because he's the 2nd to Rozeta he is quite protected by her as well, I think. So I imagine it's quite the ordeal trying to kill him.

2022-02-14 14:54:21 +0000 UTCi dont really understand why Kirginatharp is still allowed to live. He purposefully teaches magic wrong, helped create the dragon curse by killing Idyrvamikor. The only good he does is "seeming" to kill dragons in only a specific part of Verd. Just so many different people have very valid reason for killing him, i dont know why they dont. Even Erick has stated he wants to kill him on multiple occasions (chapters), and he is a pacifist! it frustrates me whenever he is brought up....
