Heavy Holiday Postcard Pounds

Year 1
"Hello to everyone back home! I miss y’all so much, it’s too bad that flying home during the holidays and paying tuition at the same time isn’t feasible this year. Thanks to my family for sending this super comfy sweater, I love how it’s nice and roomy! My first semester at WGU has been amazing! This is definitely a place for growth and change. I know when I graduate I’ll be unrecognizable and I look forward to seeing the woman I’ll become. Even when classes weigh me down I’ll keep pushing because I have all of you supporting me. Year 2
"Hello to everyone back home! I miss you all a lot. It feels like forever since I visited this summer. I forgot how hot it gets back home! My second year at WGU has been going wonderfully. Classes have been challenging, in a good way! I’ve made a bunch of new friends here, I’m especially close with one girl I met at a garage concert. She’s really cool and an amazing cook. I might even like her a little bit haha! Anyway, I hope I can see you all again very soon. Merry Christmas! Love, Riley"

"Hello to everyone back home! I hope everyone is doing well. Though I was able to see you all this past Thanksgiving, and enjoy Aunt Joy’s incredible mashed potatoes, I still miss you dearly this Christmas season. Maybe next visit I’ll bring Dawn to meet y’all? Just a thought! I’ve been studying hard this year, spending hours at my desk staying focused and giving it my all. It’s tough, but worth it! Luckily I can relax for a bit and enjoy some heartwarming hot cocoa during winter break. Y’all make sure to have some and stay warm too. Merry Christmas! Love, Riley"

"Hello to everyone back home! I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas time. I was supposed to visit home this year, but travel costs were unexpectedly more expensive than I thought for some reason. So weird haha. I miss you all very much, but I have Dawn here to keep me company, she’s already planning a special Christmas dinner for us. She’s so sweet. I can’t believe I'm halfway through my FINAL year here at WGU.Graduation is so close! My time here has been an extremely rewarding experience. I can tell I’ve grown a lot as a person and learned so much both academically and in life. My next step? Hard to say, but I’m so excited to find out. I can’t see five years from now, but I know it’ll be great as long as I have so many wonderful people in my life. Merry Christmas! Love, Riley"

Year 9
"Hello to everyone back home! I miss you all with my whole heart, but travel isn’t exactly easy anymore. I have good news though, we’ve decided to move early next year! Dawn received a great new job offer and it’s not terribly far from home. In fact it’s just a few hours by car, so we’ll be able to visit much more often! The last decade has been incredibly fulfilling, but I don’t think I could feel totally whole without being near my home and all the people that always believed in me and supported me.
