Caturday with Shameless Chair Hog

I was napping on the round chair and this shameless animal came up and started trying to convince me not to get up because I made a comfortable cushion. I am NOT fooled. He might put his head under my limp hand while I'm sleeping, but he will start nibbling on it. It's not cute. *stubborn*

So, this week! Was kind of a crazy week. But here's the round-up!

Next week, unless things explode, we'll get the monthly news, plans, and business stuff. I'll be fulfilling the Kickstarter prizes and switching gears for the next novel, so I could use the "interstitial" period. Which leads me to ask... game recs! I'd like to buy something off Steam to occupy me for a few days. I like games like Stardew Valley, story-based games like Long Live the Queen and RPGs like Wizardry and Master of Magic. Recent game I liked was Driftland: the Magic Revival, though without the campaign model I got tired of it quickly. Hit me with some ideas! :)

Seconding Pyre, I've never been that emotionally invested in characters before (and beautiful art & sound design).

I've been playing a game called Rimworld on and off for a while. You build and maintain a colony on an alien planet starting with three survivors from a starship crash. The graphics are simple, but kinda cute, and there are story aspects. The vanilla game is fun, but there are also tons of awesome mods if that's your thing. It's complex enough to hold my interest, but simple enough that I can put it down for a while and pick it up again later with no problem.

One of the best story-based games I've played in the last couple of years is Pyre. Has light RPG aspects, too. I also really enjoyed Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs, which is a tactical RPG combined with light town management and companion relationship mechanics, and has a cute sense of humour (I find the combat a little frustrating at normal difficulty, though, so I do suggest cranking the difficulty down a bit). Both are also on deep discount on the current steam sale!

Story rich: Pillars of eternity. It has some amazing lore and such great characters. Fun ways to pass time: 7th Guest/11th Hour.

ok, I'll assume you've played Undertale & A night in the woods (because if you haven't etc...) - a very interesting Undertale-like game is One-shot, which plays similar forth-wall busting games with your head and features an ending that will take your breath away. However, I would also make a left field recommendation in Gorogoa. This is a short puzzle game which is entirely wordless. Everything is done through the graphics, which are beautiful, like a series of book illustrations. The gameplay is completely unique and very satisfying. There's nothing else remotely like it.
