Caturday, with Contrasts

If there is a soft blanket, he sits.

Helloooo, peoples, we have finally arrived at Saturday on a very lackluster week. I went to the doctor on Tuesday after dragging for almost two weeks only to be told I'd been ignoring an infection and next time to come in sooner. Today is my last day of antibiotics, so hopefully I will soon stop feeling like a limp dishrag. *weak cheerleader pom pom*

...doesn't 'weak cheerleader pom pom' sound like a D&D spell? 🤔

Anyway, some items!

My Patreon special offer is still running until the end of next week! Stickers and wallpapers for all! Thank you all to those of you who jumped tiers. I appreciate your support and am grateful.

The Healer's Wedding launch is next week! The pre-order link at that point will turn into a buy link. I can't wait for you all to grab this one! It's half plot and half "I want to give my fans a gift", sort of like A Rose Point Holiday. And I just finished the edits for Book 2, so that pre-order will be going up next week.

Even the Wingless is now free! If you loved it, please send all your friends to get it. Or at least, all the friends you think would enjoy it, please spare the friends you know would not like that particular cup of tea. :D (And if it's not free in your area, please use the 'report a lower price' feature! I don't want you spending more than you have to!)

At this point, I mention that Earthrise has gone off permafree status for the year; I figured switching loss leaders around would give me some new advertising avenues. But it's still impulse-priced at $2.99 so if you want to recommend it, it still won't break any banks.

Moving on, Alysha #5 now has a name: Faith in the Service! That one's due in May and is full of ridiculous banter, as well as serious plot. A lot of old friends show up in this one. It's gonna be fun.

Finally, I have books to autograph! If there's a book you want, tell me and I'll hold it for you!

And that's Caturday. I am going to retreat to a couch and feel sorry for myself because I still feel crummy. WOE IS ME. Also, recommend me a book! I'm chewing through the ones I have way too quickly. It's all that grumpy sicktime. :D

I'm excited for In an Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire. It's the fourth in a a series about what happens after you go to a portal world (like Narnia) and come back. Book one is Every Heart a Doorway.

Ooh, yes, these are SO good! Murderbot is best bot. <3

Some of my favorite books recently have been Timothy Egan's The Worst Hard Time, a fascinating history of the dirty 30's; NPCs by Drew Hayes, which I bought on sale at Audible and was so fun I ended up buying the whole trilogy in succession; Katherine Arden's Winternight Trilogy, starting with The Bear and the Nightingale (and the third book released just a few days ago); How To Tame A Fox (And Build A Dog) by Lyudmila Trut and Lee Alan Dugatin, another great non-fiction about the Russian fox domestication experiment; and Catherynne Valente's Space Opera was delightfully weird and fun.

Have you read Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik?

I'm guessing you've already read Swordheart by Ursula (as T. Kingfisher)?

Erin Hartshorn

I assume that you've already read Terry Pratchett's Discworld books (If not, start with either Guards! Guards! or Wyrd Sisters. Do NOT start at the beginning with The Colour of Magic. ) Paul Kidd's Fey, or Fangs of K'aath are also good. Fey is a hilarious spoof on fantasy, and also makes quite a few jabs at big business publishing... Fangs... Is fantasy, high adventure, romance, and also explains why anthro bats doesn't have wings.

Trygve Henriksen

Feel better soon!

Have you read the Murderbot books by Martha Wells? Short and bizarrely feel-good. All Systems Red is the first one.

Where do you get the wallpaper that you were working on?
