In Which It Becomes Cheaper to Be a Jaguar Patron

I have been makin' some changes to my Patreon, and they are relevant to your interests!

• There are now only two tiers: a 'subscribe to the Patreon' tier and a 'subscribe to the Discord server' tier. (Okay, there are three tiers, but one of them is my Petrov tier. *amused*) 
• The Discord chat tier is now $5 a month, not $10. I did this because I know money is tight for almost all of us, and I don't like the idea of people not being able to participate because of money.
• The $25 a month 'you get something from me' tier is gone. Instead, once a year I'm going to have a 'Buy a care package from the jaguar' sale, wherein you purchase a care package and I send you a random collection of fun and happy-making mail.

So, basic breakdown: you get two reward options now: $1 or $5 a month. Please re-jigger how much you're giving me as you see fit. :)

I expect to lose money doing this, but that's okay. Having a few people giving me lots of money a month was really nice but it was distressing if they had to leave or downgrade their tier; I felt an obligation to hustle to find people to make up the shortfall. This has happened several times, and this last time I thought: 'Enough. That's not what this is supposed to be about.'

And it's not. This is our community--our gated community, collecting dues to pay for administrative overhead--not a new way for me to monetize my work.

A couple of people have asked me if they can leave their pledge amount at what it was before the change: the answer to that is 'sure, there's just no reward associated with it.' If you were giving $25 and want to keep doing that for no reward, that's fine! But I am totally okay with people who want to jump down to something less expensive. I'm making this change to make the fun community stuff more affordable: I'm expecting people to pay me less! If I could make the chat server even cheaper, I'd consider it, but I've run enough community groups to know that administrating one takes time, and time is expensive. $5 a month is, I hope, a nice compromise between my desire to make it affordable and my need to stay involved in it. And I think 'the price of one fancy cup of coffee' a month is not a bad price tag for what the chat server has become.

(Seriously. We not only have the den, where we talk all the time, but there's a studio where people encourage one another on their projects and a D&D game that's just getting off the ground.)

Anyway! To those of you who've paid me lots of money for months: I sincerely thank you. Your money has bought printer cartridges, food, book advertising, art supplies, and many other wonderful things! Accept my gratitude, and my hopes that you'll pledge whatever you feel comfortable pledging.
