Crow Cheek

My existing crows have flown on, leaving me with some stragglers who like to bark at me at 6 in the morning. (The old crows were politer, and waited a little longer for me to wake up, and didn't continue barking if I didn't come out fast enough.) Since I don't like being ordered around by guests, I've been ignoring these crows until I feel like coming out, and then I talk to them and tell them, politely, to talk to me politely or no peanuts will be forthcoming.

I have no idea if this works or not, but you know. A crowqueen has gotta have some dignity here. And standards. Definitely standards.

Anyway, I have been ignoring Rude Crows for a few weeks. I guess they got tired of that, because this morning when I went to sit down in my comfy chair with my book and my decaf, this dude was sitting at the front door, staring through the window at me.

I was so astonished by this that I came out the front door to look at him. And he looked down at me and didn't fly away. Astonishing!

(I took the photo through my (grimy) doublepane glass window, though, because brandishing small objects at crows makes them justifiably nervous.)

Anyway. I did feed the polite, front door crow. Maybe they will stop yammering at me and start asking nicely, like their predecessors. -_-

Good luck. I'm glad one of them wised up and learned the proper manners for their queen. Thank you for sharing these. I can't wait to see you build your crow army.

Good plan. You will have the best-behaved crow guests ever!
