Because it's a way better alternative to use those flat background trees, than to use the super high poly 3d models who will only destroy your performance. Those super simple background tree planes (based on trees I had ported earlier) are the better choice to increase the quality of a nature scene when placed correctly, without eatin' up all your precious fps!
