Community confabulation and computer conundrums

Hi folks,

Firstly, a quick reminder that the clocks have changed in the UK and we have moved from GMT to BST. This may mean that episodes will release at a different time for you, depending on your location.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Patreon Drop live-listen of The Magnus Protocol episode 35! The next Drop will be for episode 40, the season 2 Act 1 finale – we can’t wait to see you there! As a reminder, The Magnus Protocol season 2 is split into three acts, with short breaks in between to give the production team plenty of time to work on the episodes before they are released.

At the end of last year, we ran a series of livestream Fancasts for The Magnus Protocol season 1, where Lowri Ann Davies (the voice of Celia) and guests from the Protocol cast, listened to episodes, answered questions from the chat and gave behind the scenes information on what it was like to work on the show. These were exclusive to Patreons at the Nobles tier and to people who backed the Kickstarter campaign. However, we’re pleased to say we will shortly begin to share the episodes publicly on our YouTube channel, starting on 15th May 2025. If you’ve previously been able to watch the VOD of the livestreams, please note that these may be temporarily unavailable due to YouTube scheduling. Make sure you’re subscribed to the Rusty Quill YouTube channel so that you can see the public uploads as soon as they release!

Last week, we mentioned that Patreon was making a small update to the private RSS feeds some of you use to listen to our shows. If you were subscribed to The Magnus Protocol feed, you may have noticed that this has now become a combined feed, featuring episodes from all of our shows. If you’d prefer to listen on a separated feed, you just need to add the Protocol feed to your podcatcher again. Finally, in The Magnus Protocol this week, Alice lends a hand to Celia and Gwen. This week’s episode was written by Dylan Griggs, the creator of WOE.BEGONE, a science fiction mystery show about a man who discovers a violent online game. What starts as an investigation into who might be running it quickly spirals into a pursuit of the technology that makes it possible. WOE.BEGONE is an exploration of the nature of power, the limitations of linear time and what it means to be an individual person. Each episode features a completely new soundtrack composed by Dylan, and is well worth checking out if you enjoy this week’s episode.
