Late to the party, but there's a less polite variant that goes the other way: the small loop starts between the legs and the front rope goes up to the throat. Place one knot at the collarbones, tie another behind the neck, then another between the shoulderblades. From there you work down making diamonds as above. After the last diamond, tie the remaining rope in a series of knots a few inches apart, a chain knot, or a wrapped bight like a noose. The result goes through the small loop and gets.. tucked out of sight.
