Protip: Wool scarves can make this a little staticky. Silk scarves keep your hair nice, but don't always have the volume to really get the effect. I think the best method is to have a light silk scarf underneath the thicker scarf!

Spicymancer 2025 Wrapped

Looking back on 2025, which was a pretty wild year. Some of these comics I'm shocked to realize were this year. Let's go month to month!

January: I started the year in the middle of Rumble vs Ranger, still one of the biggest events I ever did on the Patreon. I had intended to try to finish it out before the end of the year but it ended up flowing into March. We also had a rare Cass appearance, and Ollie started showing up a bit. Oh and Johnny the Werewolf was revealed to secretly own a Blue/White Control deck.

February: A good month for Quiver! Started with Slingcuffs, and I remember doing a strip game on Twitter/Bluesky using Quiver. I did a thing where the outfit would be cut from the middle out, which I think ended up confusing some folks. I still never really know how to gauge these sorts of "interaction goal" posts. Also some clownposting.

March: This was a pretty stacked month. Rumble vs Ranger finale, plus the Speedrun comic that I remember doing pretty well. Then there was the lego Ollie that I did end up buying and lives on my desk now. And finishing up with an appearance of the Gorgon!

April: Oh April is when I first posted the Puppygirl comic with Ollie that somehow found its way into a Scientific Paper? It also featured the introduction of the Actirangers International. 5 more OCs, since I clearly did not have enough already. And somehow I even found time to do the Apryl Project with some discord friends. Oh god, and after all that I ALSO posted the Slumber Party comic in April... what a month.

May was comparatively chill. Robber Guy and Quiver finally went on a date. (I've gotta reveal his real name at some point). Eclair did Eclair Things. Oh! and my computer died! That was annoying. I ended up scrabbling for placeholder stuff, even going back to using the accursed Adobe Photoshop for a little while.

June therefore was a bit of backlog posting. Did the baserunning comic which was an idea I'd had kicking around for a while. And spent some time doodling fanart for Nikoto's P*kemon discord game.

July I posted the first draft of the Gingerwood TTRPG system. Which... I should probably do more with... And I managed to get a beach themed comic done in the appropriate season!

August was a pretty busy month. I was in the middle of a big move so it was mostle simple illustrations but I did finally receive the Actiranger Helmet prop that I commissioned at great expense almost a year before. Finished the month with a swimsuit Beck.

September featured a brief poll choice thing with Vincent and Beck. Not quite Rumble vs Ranger but I do want to try to do more of these sort of CYOA things this year. Pink got milked by Sienna.

October or should I say Bonktober was a busy month. Spending most days trying to keep up with a drawing challenge I'm pretty happy with the volume of drawings I managed to produce over the course of the month. Though there was a big wrench thrown into the gears as I was banned from tumblr for a little while. Thankfully that all got sorted inside of a week, but wow I was stressed out about stuff for a while there.

November I did a bunch of miscellaneous doodles and a bunch of fanart. A Give me 6 OCs to draw challenge I did twice, some ice cream foxes, and Oh hey it's Yuna!

I rounded out the year with a big vacation to see family in Taiwan during December, so it was mostly little doodles. Though I did get a sponsorship from Lovense which was pretty recent so I doubt y'all need the reminder. (The affiliate link should still work, though apparently folks who have the Honey plugin might need to look into that...)

And that's the whole year in review! There's a bunch of posts I didn't mention but overall I'm really proud of everything I managed to post this year and I hope y'all are having fun. When I first started this patreon I was doubtful that I'd be able to find an audience or, for that matter, maintain my creative output. I'm thrilled to be proven wrong on both fronts!

A lot of the time it's hard to realize how much you've done until you actually look back on it.

But fair enough! Everyone meet the fourth most popular Ring Girl in Rumble After Dark!

I like to think that in the meta-canon of the video game she was just a random NPC character design that the fandom latched onto until finally the devs decided to make her playable.

She's another Syndicate aligned fighter (in the loosest sense) alongside Pop, Shaoxing, Gibson and Vincent. Still considering what her relationship is gonna be like with the rest of the cast.

P.S. The alternate skins were part of some exploration around her color scheme. Her design went through a ton of iteration and I thank all of my friends patiently letting me show them a million variations like a vision test ("Okay so A... or B...? You can't tell the difference? Okay what about C.....?")

Rumble After Dark Season Pass DLC Leaks?

Okay it's that time of year again. I have the urge to do some more ref sheets and I figured this could be a nice opportunity to expand the Rumble After Dark cast...

Some of these silhouettes may be recognizable to longtime fans! Others may be more mysterious! You'll see them all eventually, but vote now for who you'd like to see FIRST!

I asked for 6 OCs to make an adventuring party!

I had a fun idea for a meme template and I decided to throw it together. I posted a call for people to post their OCs so I could fill it out... and then received almost 300 replies....

I probably should have seen that coming (I now realize why most artists limit these things to mutuals).

That said, I did find some really awesome artists to follow and it was SUPER cool seeing everyone's OCs and D&D Characters!

Some fun demographic data once all was said and done; we had...

November Misc Doodles

Been catching up on work stuff after Bonktober but I'm still trying to get a few doodles in.

Kicking off with Saffron and Teal having a team meeting.

And the long-awaited answer to "Do the ActiRangers have Big Robots?" The answer is yes, but I never really was happy with a design for them. Eventually I think I managed to sit down and work out something I was happy with, thanks in part to the prompt sort of forcing my hand. We'd still have to see what the rest of the team's Robots look like but hopefully you can infer a bit from what we see here.

And of course, Shoto didn't seem to notice the invisible Wet Floor sign.

Tumblr Account Suspended!

Hey gang! A little side update on stuff that's happening!

It looks like I stumbled into some kind of moderation issue on Tumblr and my account got suspended. Not sure what specifically set it off as I've been trying to be good about censoring and properly tagging my posts. Alas.

I'm told that this happens sometimes and that there are cases where people's accounts get reinstated. So I've submitted an appeal and we'll see how that goes!

In the meantime I want to thank everyone who supports me here because I definitely wouldn't be able to do any of this without all of you. (Both in a financial sense and also how your deeply unhinged and lovely comments are so emotionally motivating.)

Tumblr actually gave me remarkably good click-through with Patreon links (More consistently than twitter and bluesky!) I know a lot of folks here found me via Tumblr so it'll be sad if that doesn't get to happen anymore.

Admittedly there's always the Sword of Damocles of Patreon itself deciding that I should be destroyed from orbit, but we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

Anyway, once again, thank you for your support! We'll be back to Bonktober posting tomorrow!

I dunno if anyone remembers Velvet the Vampire or the Catgirl Maid?

Velvet was a character design from last year, I think. I wasn't sure whether she'd end up a Gingerwood cast member or a Rumble After Dark Vampire Fighter. I feel like she's probably more of a Gingerwood character though. (Sweet name is of course, named for Red Velvet Cake).

The Catgirl meanwhile is from the Haunted City CYOA She's never had a name, really, but I think I might call her Tiramisu...

Meanwhile I've only got two "Goons" for the goon squad... That's what it's referring to right?

Okay fine.

Folks really wanted Pink for day 18 of Bonktober so here's a bonus.

EDIT: Pumpkin Knight name updated to a better name that's also a pun. In classic Power Ranger tradition.

More Bonktobers! When deciding what to do for Pole Dance I realized it had to be Quiver so I could reference the Greatest Poledance Archer of All Time.

Followup with a sudden appearance by the Highland Minotaur discussing the nuances of Monsters vis a vis People.

And uh... I wasn't super sure what to do with "Pumpkin Fuckers" as a prompt... This one's on Kroox. But hey, look! A Not-So-Headless horseman, eh? *badum tish*.
