Overanalyzing Avatar Comics: The Search Part 3

Imagine if her children had died instead. All the same logic applies. Would you think that forgetting your dead children is an acceptable thing to do? I'd say it's even worse to forget them while they're alive, because some day Ozai will die and if she's still alive, she might get to see them again.

2023-01-27 02:23:22 +0000 UTCI do think Ursa forgetting her kids isn't quite as horrific as you seem to be making it out to be. Like, in her position, what were her options? She could never go back to her kids, Ozai wouldn't allow it. Taking the kids would be even worse, since Ozai would cut a bloody canyon through the world until he found them. If she didn't kill Azulon in the first place, then that just means she has to let Zuko die. Basically her only other option was "sit around and suffer." And I don't think any reasonable person would ask someone they loved to do that for them.
