The kid at the end of the party is the same kid that freed Appa, actually

Double Cross

i think that the lie about the secret river could've gotten past toph because "twinkle toes" is light on his feet so it might be harder for toph to sence aang's heartrate and such.

Peer

that kid dancing is insane XD

matthew james Stromberg

whoever dislikes this episode needs to stand in the corner and think about what they did! how can you hate this episode???

surasshu

That stringed instrument during the band practice is a morin khuur (a mongolian 2-string horse head fiddle). This really cool mongolian folk metal band "The Hu" has a member with a badass custom one.

I like how this episode completely destroyes the idea that the fire nation is super militaristic and evil when in reality yes there is some signs of indoctrination but overall there just fairly normal kids its more like there a result of the nation their born in and not actually evil like everyone outside of the fire nation thinks.

Waiting on that next episode like it's crack cocaine

I always thought that the scene where he gets called out and leaves is supposed to represent his own conscience, and his purposeful neglect of it. Like, he shows up to see iroh, or his conscience begins to grow louder, and the guard calling out, forcing him down, is supposed to be zuko pushing that part of himself away, but that he can't stay away from the peacefulness inside of him, so he goes and sees iroh, or he gives into his kind tendencies, only to grow angrier when he sees iroh, or, let's that part of himself in, because he isn't ready to make the full change. Idk tho

Just Noticed that one of his old goals was to Overanalyze the avatar movie. Did he already do that and I'm not seeing it or is it still in the works? If anyone knows that would be super cool, thanks (also, I accidentally hit enter on the first comment, I'm not just a weirdo 😅)

Hey

I feel like the first visit-second visit scene is meant to set up a direct contrast to the scene in the final episode when he goes to see his father in the same cell (or at least, I think it's the same cell. Certainly the same prison)

Eric Barney

also ang wears his headband upside down so that it matches his arrow

I don't know if this was obvious to everyone but I only just realised that his headband is their the school uniforms belt. Excellent video as always, keep pumpin them out :)

Dan Johnson

I feel you. That's a car payment right there. A really nice car.

Ive never heard that before, really? So cool

I always thought that scene was illustrating Zuko's insecurity. He resolved to go and ask Iroh about his doubts surrounding his place in the world and his not feeling comfortable in the place he thought he should be. Then one thing (the guard shouting out) broke his resolve for that night. I can imagine a twisted inner dialogue argument, "this is my destiny, I belong here as my father's son" and "this still doesn't feel right, maybe this isn't who I am." It only took one little distraction to break his resolve that first time. I feel like that happens to me a lot, where something totally unrelated happens and causes me to chicken out of what I finally decided to do.

Honestly I have always thought of Zuko going to the prison and then leaving was more of an intelligence aspect. Where he was going to see his uncle and maybe realized there was a ton of guards and had to rethink his plan on getting in. I also think it is more so used as a precursor to the idea that Zuko is not really supposed to be there and that when he goes the second time the only person he has to worry about tattling on him is the guy guarding irohs cell. just IMO

I have been hanging for this episode, it's filler, but the kind of filler you look forward to because damn it you want to see the gang have fun!

“What point does is serve for zuko coming to the prison the first time” stop overanalyzing it…oh wait

hays collins

People dislike this one? One of my favs from book 3 tbh

A_Brodo

In this episode of Overanalyzing Avatar I learned that OA wants noodles shoved down his throat.

I will never understand why people dislike this episode solely (hehe) cause it's based on Footloose. It's just Aang being, well, Aang, after after the rollcoaster of emotions that was from Lake Laogi up until now, we kinda needed it

shinyumbreon

This was such an "Aang" episode. Like He hit "fully realized" levels of relaxed in the middle of enemy territory like Sokka said. He was suddenly thrust into fire nation culture and he excelled. Man I would've paid to see those kids realize after the comet that they went to school with and had a dance party with the Avatar.

ADLegend21

I love this episode and I watched this show when I was 10-12 so to see aang dance with katara was the absolute shit for me. Definitely encouraged me to dance with girls I liked in the future

Let's go!

This is a fun episode
