Hi, love your tutoriel. I've noticed your asaro head in the back. Would you mind tell me where you bought it ?

Lily

Mostly yes. Sometimes of course there are drawings that should be kept incomplete in places.

Stephen Bauman Artwork

hi stephen when you mean by keeping things at the same level and progressing in a harmonious way do you mean having the hair neck and shirt at the same level of value and design and sense of structure as with the face ?

michael joshua

As in the second stage? Sure.

Stephen Bauman Artwork

can it also be called value, structure and design?

michael joshua

Stonehenge by Legion is what I use for 99% of my work.

Stephen Bauman Artwork

Hi Stephen! What paper do you use? I would love some recomendations.

Laura Baruffaldi

Hi Chris, you are correct in that I don't often use softer than 2b. Sometimes 4b. Really never sorter than that. If I had to make a more striking value contrast I would probably have to use softer, and I would. Either that or use an aqueous dispersion of graphite that was VERY saturated. This would also get the effect of very dark darks without the burnished effect.

Hi Stephen, I see in the video you stated in the value range that the darkest was up to a 2B. Does that mean you generally never use anything extremely soft like an 8B or 10B? What is the reasoning behind that, and would there be circumstances in which you would?

Chris N

It's more about a sharp pencil that pressing hard. Theres a little bit of pressure though, but try to limit that a bit.

Stephen Bauman Artwork

how do you make a crisp sharp line do you just press hard on the pencil?

michael joshua

There are a couple of small audio problems on this video. Working on fixing them now.
