This is the First of three parts and it goes through my use of graphite, white chalk, and gouache to make this painting. My paper here is Stonehenge toned with a bit of black Higgins ink. Just black for me.

I have tried this paper toning method with Higgins ink and the same Stonehenge paper, but using black ink, I got a much more bluish tone. Did you use black ink for this, or the Higgins brown?

Hi Miguel, right now I don't offer the videos for download- I think that there is the possibility to watch them at a slightly lower quality though.

First of all, thank you very much for this amazing Patreon. I would like to know if there is any way to download the videos because my internet is very slow and it is quite difficult to see the full videos while I drawing. Thank you very much Stephen!

I always strive to draw or paint people I already know because then I already have a feel for them and a sense of connection. I don't know Timothy, and should because he and I are both artists living in Maine, and I love his work. But Timothy has the kind of sharp, lean bone structure I love best to draw, and the lighting and poses you offer us in the model pack are perfect. I have a queue of a ton of other pieces I'm doing or will be doing outside of this class but this piece looks like so much fun I'm just going to use your source and see what I can do with it.

I really like this ides too, Puck!

I really like the idea of just focusing on block ins for a while! It feels like it takes off some of the pressure to "complete" a drawing while giving a clear and simplified item to work on. I've been doing a vague version of this where I stop when I feel like I've learned all I can from a piece but I think I often reach that stopping point because the foundation of the piece was a little too flawed during block in and I've gone too far to go back.
