Aw man this is amazing! And to answer your question, "Gohin" I believe is the official romanization. "Gouhin" is the more accurate to the Japanese pronunciation because it is written "go-u-hi-n" which is pronounced as a long "o" sound. Japanese is a rhythmic language so lengthening the "o" sound makes it a different word.
