July Update

Hey All,

I just got back from my trip to Las Vegas a few days ago and... I. Am. Exhausted. The trip took way longer than anticipated and had so many complications. Despite the 5 weeks I spent there, I wasn't able to totally wrap up my business, which means I need to make a return trip in a couple of months. 😒

On the writing front, I finally get to delve into book 4 in the Singed Series! I've been thinking about it while on the road--turning over plots and scenarios. I was so stressed out in Vegas. My natural tendency to tune everything out is reading and writing. I was so tempted to indulge my muse, but I knew if I did, I would lose touch with reality and ignore all the things I had to do and possibly prolong my time there, so I resisted. It was hell.

Now I finally have time to bang out a first draft! July, I'm wading in. I don't think I'll be posting any snippets until August? Hopefully by then I'll have amassed a chunk of the manuscript--enough for me to start posting passages without giving too much away...

I suspect that I'll spend quite a bit of time writing from Roth's POV in the beginning of book 4. Already, he's at the forefront of my mind. He's this ominous presence, ready to take charge, ready to be unleashed... A lot of things that are happening in the the beginning of this book, Jasmine will be completely oblivious to. Only Roth can fill in the gaps, which is why he has to have his own book--confirming readers suspicions or shedding light on things that are lightly touched upon/hinted at in discussions/scenes.

I've said this before, but I feel like this book is the turning point. This is where everyone starts showing their true colors, decisions are made, and we all start to realize there's no turning back... I'm so excited to write this book and loosen my hold on the reins. We're in the back half of the series, so I can stop withholding so many secrets. 🤫

I'm desperate to fall into this book. It's been pushing at me every since I left them and I'm eager to tune out the real world and escape into their tangled, toxic web and purge.
