Destroying James Roth had become his hobby

Destroying James Roth had become his hobby. It irritated him to no end that this guy wouldn’t crawl back into the hole he came from. He should have waved the white flag of defeat in the States. Instead, he moved to a different country to rebuild. Who did that? Roth shouldn’t have made any headway, much less achieved any measure of success with his interference, but there was a reason James Roth captured his interest. Three years later, Roth proved beyond a shadow of a doubt why he had been right to view him as a future rival.
James Roth was one of the most resourceful, hardworking, and cunning men he studied. If he didn’t loathe the man, he would have congratulated him on his ability to navigate treacherous international waters and network. The man’s instinct for picking the right projects to invest in was unrivaled. He had the Midas touch and used that to gain access to opportunities very few knew existed.
Their minds worked in similar ways. So much so, he was able to predict some of Roth’s moves, foiling him before anything could be set in stone. He cost Roth tens of millions. That would have bankrupted anyone else, but the bastard kept going. His business strategies were brilliant. If Roth had chosen the military instead of the business world, he could have won wars. As it was, he conquered more territory than Maximus was comfortable with. But the one thing he laid claim to that he would relinquish was his daughter.

2024-02-07 02:06:38 +0000 UTCThose who grew up in eastern countries had dads just like Maximus. They choose their kids life or it ends. Honestly I’m glad to see the parental aspect in a book, because controlling or supportive parents play a big role in who we are and who we fall in love with. Thank Mia
