Price change for new subscribers and a one-off offer

Note: Re-posting this one last time for people who may have missed it when I first sent it out.

Hey all - starting on Sunday, the 6th of July, the monthly subscription price for new subscribers of the HASHTAG+ subscription will be changing from $2.00 USD / month to $2.50 USD / month.

The price remains at $2.00 USD / month for active and current subscribers, it's only for new subscribers. The same change is also made for people who pay for a full year in advance.

If you already have an active subscription, your subscription price remains the same.

It's starting on the 6th to give people a few days to start their subscription again if it's inactive and you want to lock in the $2.00 USD / mo price.

The price change does not impact those on the HASHTAG+VOTE and HASHTAG+VIP tiers.

Why is the price increasing?

To keep it short, it's going into improving the quality of the websites. The additional services I'm looking to add all come with cost-based usage (like machine learning resources to help add new functionality / improve the analysis of existing tools). I'm always one who prefers to make cool stuff ahead of profits (which is why I've kept the subscription as low as possible), so I'm going to absorb some of the costs, but after crunching the numbers, I won't be able to absorb all of it.

One-time offer

Apologies for taking so long to get this out. The delay was due to chasing up some legal advice on offering lifetime offers (I always aim to do everything as transparent and by the book as possible).

The TLDR version is that I've been advised not to offer a lifetime deal since it makes it difficult to reimburse people if I'm not able to fulfill the deal. Instead, I've been advised to provide a fixed term duration, so reimbursement can be calculated based on remaining years.

So, the offer I've landed on is a one-off payment of $80 USD for 10 years of access to all websites, with the reimbursement rate of $8/year for each unfulfilled year.

This offer, like the monthly and yearly subscriptions, offer premium access to all 4 websites (and all future Hashtag websites).

For comparison, the offer is roughly the equivalent of paying for 3 years worth of subscriptions (when factoring in the 10% discount rate offered for those who pay yearly instead of monthly).

The $80 USD / 10 year offer will also be live on the 6th of July, and will only be available for Patreon subscribers (you won't see me posting this on social media) until the end of July.

I'm going to open it up early as a trial run to make sure everything runs smoothly as possible, so if you email support@hashtagfs.com asking for the offer, I'll reply back with the link.

PS. I'm always nervous about anything to do with pricing on the websites, so hopefully these changes don't annoy too many people! (please don't be mean if they do haha)
