The revised trade (Notebook drop)
Added 2025-02-09 02:41:06 +0000 UTCI’m just about to adjust my projections based on the news that the Mark Williams / Knecht trade has been rescinded, but wanted to get this one out early (good timing that I’m in the middle of watching a game when it went down).
The biggest losers are Knecht, Nurkic, and Diabate. We’re light on details on why the trade got rescinded, so I’m ok with holding Diabate for now (unless Hayes is available) to see if it was for enough of a medical reason that might hold Mark Williams out for a bit, but if you added Knecht or Nurkic, there might be better options available on the waiver wire.
The biggest winner is Hayes. The best the Lakers can do now is to either start Hayes for the rest of the season, or find a buyout option, and I’m not sure if they’d be able to get a better option than Hayes. He’s worth adding.
This also helps the Hornets wings since Knecht won't be cutting into their minutes.
