The mini-storm before the storm (Notebook drop)

We saw a heap of trades go down today. Instead of running over all of them, I wanted to highlight the important players impacted and how I’d adjusted their projections so far.

Mark Williams moving to LA should remain unchanged, but I've upped his FG%. Have upped Knecht’s minutes, but he doesn’t provide much outside of scoring. Diabaté is the big winner here (so far). Charlotte doesn’t have another high rotation big-man, and he puts up 10+ rebounds, 1+ steals, and 1+ blocks when playing over 20 minutes this season. Go and add him if he’s available on the waiver wire.

Ingram moving to Toronto hurts the usage of their big usage guys. Barnes, Quickley, and RJ all take a small usage hit (along with Ingram). There’s a 30 minute a night hole to fill in New Orleans. Their team is a bit of a mess right now, so it’s hard to see who the real benefactor is, but they started Matkovic tonight, and he played 29 minutes, so it’s worth taking a flyer on him, and I’ve upped his playing time (will continue to monitor it to see how Olynyk is used).

Butler to Golden State and Wiggins in Miami should have similar production to how I’ve had them projected so far, but fringe Miami guys like Highsmith, Jaquez, and to a lesser extent, Jovic, should see decreases in usage and minutes.

The fantasy vampire (Kuzma) finally getting traded out of Washington bodes well for the young Wizards core. I can’t see Middleton playing too many more games this season for a tanking team. Have given Coulibaly, Carrington, George, and Vukcevic more usage and minutes. I’m not sure how sold I am on Holmes with Jonas also being traded away from Washington.
