Hashtag Basketball projections update (Notebook drop)
Added 2024-02-29 10:41:26 +0000 UTCHey all - you'll have noticed tweaks to the projections over the past week. Here's a summary / main talking points:
Atlanta Hawks:
The absence of Trae Young opens a lot of usage, to the tune of 19 shots per game. Historically, when Young misses time, Murray takes the reigns at point, and it opens up more minutes for wings like De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic. A bigger role is in store for Jalen Johnson and Dejounte Murray. All players mentioned got a sizable bump in their projections when the injury news broke.
Brooklyn Nets:
Brooklyn might have a new coach, but they’re still playing terribly, and don’t have a player in the top 140 over the last 2 weeks. I’ve tweaked the projections for their key players.
Charlotte Hornets:
Tre Mann and Grant Williams have cooled off a bit after being traded to Charlotte. Go with your gut feeling on whether you want to take a flyer on Aleksej Pokusevski. I personally won’t be, but I can see why some might.
Cleveland Cavaliers:
If you’ve found Darius Garland‘s jump shot, please return it to him before fantasy playoffs start. I’ve temporarily lowered his FG% until he returns to form.
Dallas Mavericks:
Time shares are a dirty word in fantasy basketball, and both Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford are splitting time (and shedding value). It looks like Dallas is still working out how to best use the pairing as they gear up for a playoff run, which doesn’t bode well for fantasy. Expect some inconsistent playing time.
Miami Heat:
We’re approaching the end of the season and Miami is in the play-in mix. February and March are traditionally high-performing months for Jimmy Butler when Miami needs to turn it on.
New York Knicks:
Keep riding the Josh Hart, Precious Achiuwa, and Donte DiVincenzo wave until Randle and OG return from injury.
Chat soon,
Joey

Do you still think gafford can pull close to 2 blocks/game in Dallas?
