Added 2022-04-08 07:01:01 +0000 UTC
For the first time ever in the 15+ year history of Retronauts, we're bringing you a full-length movie commentary! And we're chatting about a film that deserves a serious examination and evaluation: 1993's Super Mario Bros., just in time for its 29th anniversary. Sometimes it's inspired, and most of the time it's inexplicable—but nevertheless, you'll enjoy watching along with this information-packed commentary. So get ready to sync up and trust the fungus as Bob Mackey and Henry Gilbert entertain you throughout this bold re-imagining of Nintendo's famous duo.
Note: Movie sync begins at 00:41, immediately after the "Allied Filmmakers" logo fades from the screen.
Please do more of these. I don't think I would have watched this movie on my own but you guys made it such an enjoyable experience.

This is gonna be my first time watching the original cut in, well probably 2-3 years. I did watch the extended cut from http://www.smbmovie.com last year when that was released. Looking forward to revisiting this one again.

Looking forward to possibly hearing a Retronauts commentary for a certain other Mario movie at the end of the year ;)

This was really fun. I haven't seen the SMB Movie since I first watched it about 8 years ago or so and it's just as strange as I remember. The commentary was really great and I hope you do more of them in the future, even though logistically I'm sure it can be difficult.

That was so much fun! Definitely wanna hear more commentaries! :D
I loved this movie as a child. I was a huge Mario head, and even though it was a completely weird movie, I was weirdly obsessed with it. For some reason I thought Spike was a really cool looking dude, and the goomba dance was my favourite moment in the movie.
I think it just tickled the part of my childhood that was obsessed with dinosaurs and the small sprinkles of Dino references in the movie was enough.

I 100% support this and am stoked to have a plan for my weekend now (outside of the 10k race I signed up for).

Was it ever explained why that Bob-Omb was so tiny?
