Episode 313: Weird Controllers, Pt. II

Well, this is it (...maybe). The final journey of the Retronauts East crew (...probably).

This follow-up to the first "Weird Controllers" conversation (from 30 episodes ago!) is a blast from the past that sees the East ensemble banding together, unknowingly meeting for the last time before the world went topsy-turvy to become a planet where we can no longer record shows together in the same room. It's a sad state of affairs, but I'm happy to report that we did at least wrap up our final dangling plot thread. (If by "plot" you mean "topic we didn't quite make it through on our first attempt.") Once again, we contemplate the strange, the inexplicable, and the barely usable: The weird controllers. That we didn't talk about last time.

Please enjoy, and look forward to a time when we can team up to record this sort of nonsense once again.

Special thanks to Shaan Khan for the cover art, and to Greg Leahy (as always) for pulling edit duties!

Comments

The references of the Roll n Rocker reminded me that I read a computer magazine in 1990 or so with a tutorial on building a similar foot tilt controller from a broken joystick and a Pogo Ball. I wish I could remember the magazine name. My favourite part was the action button was controlled by knocking knees together to complete a circuit.

Fun ep! However, you refer a few times to an upcoming blog post with the controllers ... I can’t seem to find it?
