With the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie just around the corner, there's never been a better time to look back on all the actors who once brought life to Sega's little blue speed rat. Though improv master Ben Schwartz will play Sonic in the sure-to-be-great film, he's just the latest in a long line of actors—in both America and Japan—who convinced all of us that a hedgehog could speak. On this episode of Retronauts, join Bob Mackey and Henry Gilbert as they trace the surprisingly deep history of Sonic thespians. Plus: Larry King in the role he was born to play!
One tiny one missing. In Sonic CD he has a tiny couple of voice bits: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LuQ4kKiNc4" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LuQ4kKiNc4</a>

Just realized that Aziz Ansari's Darryl from Bob's Burgers is basically an impression of Jaleel White's Sonic.

Is it really true for the upcoming Sonic movie studio executives wanted to Rastify him by 10%?

I personally don't like this topic. In my opinion comparing voice actors is too isolated and minor of a subject matter to provide any interesting discussion or insight on SEGA as a company or their handling of the Sonic franchise. The battles between the international SEGA factions is a really fascinating tale, and so is the disjointed roller coaster of the Sonic brand. But this narrow of a topic doesn't say much about anything really. /Crusty old grump
