Diddy/Diddy Kong thing that you guys mentioned, I used to visit a games forum called GameTalk where the owner sold the rights for diddy.com to representatives of the rapper. He bought that domain name way back in the mid 90's when he bought a bunch of domain names with video game character names thinking he might decide to use them later and he ended up making a pretty good profit off that particular URL.
