Btw if you're struggling with Kun's name, you can watch this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fJNnJaspAY, she teaches the Chinese pronunciation of the Chinese member's name (skip to 0:32 for Kun's name). Also, I've noticed how you have been pronouncing Xiaojun and Renjun's name slightly wrong too (which is fine as you've just started) but it's not Xiaojune or Renjune but more like Xiaojuin and Renjin (it's quite hard but you can watch the same video to listen to their pronunciations too - Xiaojun 1:02 & Renjun 1:52). Chenle's name can be hard too - 2:16. I hope this helps, it'll become easier as you keep learning more about them. Don't worry about making mistakes as we can see that you are trying your best :)

In America, 'Coon' is a racial slur that was used against black people in the 1950s-1970s. It's not really used today, but the word has negative connotations for Americans, which is why most of us are uncomfortable with the word. However, I do find it a bit strange that they're uncomfortable saying his name just because the pronunciation is similar. That's like being uncomfortable with Koreans saying 'Naega' because it sounds like THAT word.

ive never seen SM say that JS will always be the youngest? thats very unlikely since they will continue to debut members.

Question you guys asked: 1. Kun is pronounced like the word "could"...the "cou" them had a "n"(i don't know if this helps...hope it helps) 2. Jisung is the youngest (according to sm he will always be the youngest in NCT(hopefully they keep to it), the new members, Sungchan is 1 year older than him and Shotaro is older than Sungchan(cant remember by how much)) 3. The rest episodes are not like the first ep....they will be different as you run through. Thanks for the vid!

no, new members don't have to learn old nct choreos since they don't have to perform them. shotaro for example danced to 127, dream and wayv songs here but he isn't in any of those units, so no one would expect him to know the choreo. however he was a dancer in japan and liked nct before sm casted him, he had a tiktok account back then where he danced to kick it for example. all the members here were super surprised to see taro kill their dances like that

I commend you guys for jumping straight into NCT World! This show is SO fun, so regardless of knowing the members, you’ll enjoy yourself. Also regarding Kun’s name, if it’s the English word i’m thinking of (as an african american), I can’t speak for everybody, but I think most people would understand that you’re saying something in a different language, but if it still makes you uncomfortable, to help, Kun’s name is pronounced with more of an “i” sound in there. More like “ku-in”, but fast. And his last name is Qian (chi-ahn) so you could say his full name together Qian Kun if that’s helps! Also, don’t worry, only the first 2 episodes are in this format lol they change every 2 episodes. This was a really creative way to introduce all the members! Also most of the missions were tailored to the members history or skills in some way, which is pretty cool for fans who know them well. Sungchan and Shotaro are still older than Jisung, the show did list the members in age order, but put Sungchan and Shotaro last because they were the new members. Yangyang was the member who also speaks German! Taeil sang “Lately” by Stevie Wonder, which is the song he auditioned with, he loves this song. Shotaro is so interesting because he’s like the story of a successful fan really, he already had a career in Japan as a dancer and he often worked with big Japanese artists and toured as a back up dancer, but he loved NCT already and signed with SM in November of 2019, and was literally doing tik tok covers of NCT songs when SM told him he would debut in NCT in 2020. These missions fly by for real! There’s so much happening and so much fun that it doesn’t even feel like an hour has passed. This show is just a blast ugh I love rewatching it, it’s an instant serotonin boost, and it’s even better watching you guys check it out! Can’t wait for next week and whatever NCT content y’all have coming next.

they don't do this for the entire series no lmao! they do this for episodes 1-2, something else for 3-4, from what i remember 5,6 & 7 are something else and i think 8 is a special episode? but correct me if im wrong i havent watched them all in a while

Also, I totally get your problem with the pronunciation of Kun's name as a native English speaker! If you listen closely, it sounds slightly different from the word you were talking about in that the vowel sound is shorter in the name "Kun". So instead of the "-oo-" vowel sound that drags a little, you're putting emphasis on a shorter "-u-" vowel sound. Just practice saying it naturally like that and you should hear a difference, and eventually you'll be comfortable saying his name!

Shotaro is born in 2000 (same age as Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and Yangyang) and Sungchan is born in 2001(same age as Chenle) , which means Jisung is still the youngest in NCT! I think they just put them last in the opening sequence because they're the newest members :)

Kun is Chinese, and his name is pronounced as 'koon' (like remember the pronounciation for tycoon the 'coon' part) Sorry, english is not my first language, so i didn't get the reference you were talking abt 😅 The guy Renjun was trying to guess in the end, Changmin from TVXQ, is an MC in Kingdom btw (he is the only MC there now since Yunho isn't there)
