Simultaneously I don't know what to comment, and I feel like others have the same feeling - hence the abundance of lame jokes in the Youtube comment section. The interviews are great but have a hermetic quality to them, which is enhanced by the polished sound and image. There's a certain 'coolness' that has to be maintained - and to be fair, Josh is great at exuding coolness. His ability to bring on iconic guests and impress them with sharp questions and knowledge is very satisfying. Maybe a parasocial relationship is not the right thing to desire from a podcast, but I feel that what prevents the show from becoming a *movement*, so to say, is perhaps the lingering feeling that we as the audience are not completely in on the joke.
