TVP Beta 8 will also include scene detection. most notably, it *wont* work with frames, even if i wanted to. it gets fed a video file through piping. so an image sequence will not be supported in the near future. TVP Beta 8 will also get upscaling, which means the entire stack you run can basically be replaced with TVP alone :)

Thank you for your answer! 1: Understood and noted. That's a bummer. I only have AMD gpus... 2: Sorry, I was not clear enough. Normally I do the following: 1. Extract frames (ffmpeg). 2. Interpolate with RIFE 3. Upscale with waifu2x or RealERSGAN. I want to replace the interpolation step with TVP. RIFE takes all the frames in a video as input and interpolates them. Would be awesome if TVP could do that via commandline. I have batch scripts that auto-detect scenes and does the interpolation by scene...Then upscaling

Hi! to your questions: 1: this is not possible. it needs an NVIDIA card as of right now, until pytorch supports ROCm/MIPS properly. CPU Processing is way too slow and is actually a bit more inaccurate, giving a worse result while taking way too long. 2: no, the tool is not able to be run via commandline, as its meant to make things easier for the user with an Interface. TVP stands for "Tsubajashis Video Project", and therefore also does not support working with images directly. it needs video. Beta 8, still in development, will bring a Queue, aswell as several other nice additions. im also currently trying to port TVP to NCNN, so users with AMD GPUs etc can also use it efficiently.

Hi Jan, Two questions: 1. How can I only use the CPU for processing? I don't have Nvidia/Cuda. 2. Can I run the tool via commandline? I am batch processing folders and would like to interpolate all pictures in a folder each time by 2x

Okay, I'll download 7zip and try, Thanks

you may need winrar or 7zip in order to open it, as its a .7z (the release is for windows, so dont worry about that) if you need any further assistance, just write me on discord. i can guide you through.

Oh, um I'm using windows, and when I download it, it isn't a zip file, but rather a undefined icon, (blank sheet of paper), so I'm kinda confused. Is there supposed to be a zip?

Hi! when you downloaded the zip, you need to extract it. in there, will be TVP-App-Beta.exe (or similar). you need to open that, as its a compiled file.

So um, I downloaded the TVP file, but I'm not sure how to run it, how do I get it to work, and what should I use to open it? Notepad?

a little Information for you: Beta 8 will definitely have the scaling issues adressed. i just tested 150% scaling on windows, and it looked pretty accurate. :) Beta 8 will come soon, i just have packaging issues right now.

gotcha, ill fix that up next release.

There's been no issue interpolating and encoding 2160p videos. First encountered this error with a 2900p video.

32GB RAM, 10GB GPU VRAM (Nvidia RTX 3080).

thank you for the report, how much ram do you have? maybe my x265 SVT settings are a bit too extreme for lower amounts of ram at this resolution. i take a look at it for beta 8. :)

TVP failed at the video encoding step (x265 SVT) after interpolating all the frames. The video is 5800x2900 (VR video). Error: allocate memory failed, at ../Source/Lib/Codec/EbPictureBufferDesc.c, L72 Screenshot of logs including error: https://i.imgur.com/C7ZKU4J.png

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I hope to get windows scaling working in beta 8! No promises though, as Qt seems to be weird with scaling overall. Ill take a look at it though :)

Thank you! Stay tuned for a nice update after a long time :D you can also check out the bot on the discord server. this one always runs in my dev environment :) and yes, i can reduce hard disk space required, itll be in the beta 8 update, with piping.

Love TVP! Faster, better quality, and requires less VRAM than RIFE. One request: Can you reduce hard disk space required? I am trying to interpolate VR videos, and it takes hundreds of gigabytes (even when using JPG instead of PNG). RIFE-App does not require storing every frame on disk so doesn't take up much disk space.

Hey, just to let you know (if you don't already) this app currently doesn't support Windows scaling. If you could take a look at this at some point, it would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you! Also, great work on this project :) It is working great so far with Claymation videos.
