Room progress

I wanted to write another quick update about the state of the set atm, as there is a rather large problem at the moment. But first, the good news.

The room as it is is basically finished, and i have a rough idea of how i want the lighting to be. It still needs some revision, but thats something i can do.

The bad news though: I cannot get over their hair. Aside from Kaisa (and possibly Akali), the hair props I could find are incredibly bad. Its hard to pose, and it looks like soft serve ice cream for the most part, with nothing i can do to make it better - I just tried to make it look better for six hours now, and this is the best result.

So what now? Well, the solution is - like most things in 3D - Learning blender, specifically its Hair tool. However, this would mean a massive stop in the set's production since i know nothing about blender - I have no knowledge of its UI, shortcuts or really anything. Last time i tried, i was happy to open a scene. So. The questions are now is:
Should i do that, waste a week on something that might not even look good in the end?
Should i hire someone to make the hair, and possibly spend 500Euro on 4 hairs that i'll never use again after the set is done?
Should i just shelf it and return to the whole idea once I know how to do that.
Should i just proceed foward and hate every since time i have to look at that hair and pose it.

Honestly, i'd be very glad to hear your opinions on this one. Kinda lost, i didnt expect this kind of a setback.

Use Blender to learned hair - it would maybe make your more happy with renderings, learning a new thing, makes characters looks better, and is good to make future characters who are not here yet to look better too! Even if it is delaying set, happy artist and better look characters are more good than set renderings done a little earlier!

Miro 3D is using blender i bet you could get some tips and tricks from miro oh and methodmad is also using blender you could also ask them, I believe that this can be great and i personally think that learning something new can help you expand what stuff you can use😊

The tail piece might look like ice cream (or dreadlocks) but her bangs look pretty good. But I'd say shelf it. Over time you'll think of something. Or get into blender via soft-transition. Do something easy on the side while still using your previous tool 95% of the time. Over time you might end up increasing your Blender percentage and at some point maybe even transition entirely? But man, I gotta say. Your stuff looked so damn good, I thought you were already on Blender. Like that jacket...damn, such rich looking shader and reflection.

Maybe delay this set, and give yourself time to learn what you need to?

Up to u but I’d say just do it to the best of your abilities as your talented & it will still look rather good anyway
