Weekly Status Report Chapter 11 (1)
Added 2023-02-28 19:36:18 +0000 UTCWith the final version of the Prologue released, I just realized I haven't posted a proper status report on Chapter 11 yet. I had been keeping the prologue stuff under wraps since I wanted it to be some kind of surprise, and after finishing the release cycle, I've been laser focused on the script for Chapter 11.
These past two weeks I've been working mostly on the writing, and I feel I'm making good progress. I began writing the script the same day the Alpha was published, and in this time I've completed what I think is about 65-70% of it. The art is about 50% done.
I've finally found a couple of artists I can delegate some illustrations too, which has enabled me to focus on the writing during these weeks. I still draw all of the heads and faces, and I want to keep drawing the most important scenes myself, but I'll try delegating as much as I can, as long as the final result is up to my standards.
I've also been working on enhancing the music department (and a bit of the audio), and I'm trying something pretty cool that I still don't know if will work, but if it does I'll let you know more.
Other than that, I'll keep focusing on writing and try to finish Ian's part as fast as I can, and then continue with Lena's and the remaining art stuff. I'll keep you posted!

2023-03-05 15:37:45 +0000 UTCNo offense, but playing this optical masterpiece on a mini-screen is almost a sin ;) . You will get the game mechanics, but you don`t get the real atmosphere. I also feel the difference between playing (13") on my laptop and playing on monitor (>30").

Maybe a cache bug on my side, but I did check on two days and after restarting my computer. Once, I had a post of mine disappeared that was wrongfully marked as spam/commercial by Patreon. I hat to contact support in order to read it again. Maybe your mentioning of your "itch" triggered a similar alarm. But I see your post there now, so nevermind.

2023-03-01 16:05:03 +0000 UTCIf not done too much, I would agree. But too much of it (or the "wrong" sounds) can conquer the immersion rather than support it. Thinking about you imagine Ian having a very deep, male-ish voice and Eva choosing a very high pitched voice for him. But the less articulated the sounds are, the lesser the risk for this, I would think. Like the slammed door or an questioning "hm?" or a grumble. An "Ohhh" or ok might be too much.

2023-03-01 15:53:27 +0000 UTCIn terms of audio I wouldn't mind if some characters got expressive noises when a certain things happen like when Lena has her shock face if it played a gasp with the change or Ians hurt/sad face he grumbles a little bit I think that might add a nice extra layer to the game.

2023-03-01 00:02:34 +0000 UTCNot to forget: SpaceCorpsXXX - not a really bad nor good game, but after the initial chapters, it sports a very good and also very funny soundtrack. If I remember correctly, listening to a cover version of Queens "I want to break free" while being sexually harassed by a muscle woman. Not my kink at all, but I surely laughed a lot. ORS is surely not that soundtrack-driven, but I do appreciate the way Eva manages to integrate songs for setting the mood or "supporting" the appearance of a character. The music never feels intrusive. I hope, the new tracks keep that standard :) . So, Marc, I get what you mean and I do this, too, in the "cheaper" kind of visual novels, but with others, I agree with Flover.
