I also remember that when Drey met Gil, he didn't believe that he was actually related to Finn, which may mean that Gil isn't truly related to him and really came from "the sea god's last egg" that was in the prophecy

2023-10-01 10:51:33 +0000 UTCOk, I have a theory on Gill’s whole ‘chosen one’ status- Gillion is THE chosen one. At least for the original prophecy. But the undersea have slowly lost sight of the original prophecy, twisting it into what it is now. To the point where they don’t care as much about WHO is in the prophecy as much as they just want it to happen. The whole ‘second chosen one’ idea was formed because Gillion proved he was ‘unworthy’ even if that other one isn’t actually a part of the prophecy. I think maybe the Undersea leaders want an excuse to go to war or something and they’re using the prophecy to do that. Maybe Edyn is aware of this and is trying to prevent a war from happening? I don’t know, just an idea.
