Theory for queen, they aren't human (possibly not even humanoid?), and rather are some type of celestial, or abberation with memory loss/memory distortion, and perhaps either the masks or the song reminded them of their past but since they couldn't fully understand it, it caused pain. Perhaps the song was a song of the gods, or originated from a different world/secret place where queen and their species and such once were, seeing as its at a different frequency and such, or had magic in it (as to make the others have effects). Perhaps they were a species of music. Perhaps the form queen uses isn't even their real form?? But thats just a theory. A grizzly theory.

Don't worry Patrick, I'm not offended, I just disagree. I think you have good points on your side, with *extreme* gluttony and weight gain being tied together, but I strongly disagree with your point that, in your words, "linking gluttony to obesity is [not] specifically targeting those who are overweight". Here's how I see it: Linking a specific body shape to one of the seven deadly sins, where that body shape is representative of that sins, is ABSOLUTELY targeting people of that body shape. Fatphobia is a societal and cultural issue, and the fact that societally and culturally those two are linked in the general cultural consciousness is not an accident. I also know that there are a lot of fat people, multiple of whom I know personally, who have had their self esteem affected by growing up with nearly every fat character in media being a gluttonous, evil slob. So while I understand that there are some logical steps people can take to get to this end, I still don't think this is a good path to take. Especially when there are not a lot of fat characters of note in the campaign, and the only fat person in this group is connected to obesity. I even specifically pointed out before that there are a range of villains in this campaign, and this group, with a variety of themes, but all of smaller sizes, and my main issue was that I wanted to see that variety *be applied* to the fat characters of the cast. I genuinely don't think I would have had an issue with Glutto if there were more fat villains in this group, or recently in this campaign, that showed the same variety and nuance the thinner characters are allowed.

i have a theory specifically for the bard guy. The masks surrounding his face seem to indicate that his face-area has some form of prominence. What if he’s basically faceless, cursed or something to exist without an identity of his own. Now what if the masks surrounding his face aren’t magic artifacts or emotions, but faces of those who have lost to him in combat or something of the sort. The reason Queen can’t remember who he is is because he doesn’t have an identity; it was stolen by this bard guy. What if Queen recognized that one song from 108 not because he recognized it as the bard’s song, but because it was *his* song; stolen from him along with his memory.

Hey, I'm not trying to be on the attack, but I apologize if that's how it looked like from your perspective. This is genuinely what I think about this character. We were asked what we think about these characters, and I answered. I am a wordy person, because I struggle explaining my thoughts concisely without missing out on important details. I'm not attacking anyone, I just think this was done in poor taste and explained why. I think think someone did something that wasn't good without thinking they are bad people.

You're completely right that obesity is not mainly caused by eating and I'm not disagreeing with your point overall. I'm just pointing out that all Grizzly has done here is create a hyperbolic personification of one of the seven deadly sins based on its most defining factor. 99.9% of people who are obese are not gluttons at all, but the EXTREME result of gluttony is weight gain (which is just a fact based on caloric intake). I just don't think that linking gluttony to obesity is specifically targeting those who are overweight, especially in this scenario where it should not be taken as a jab at anyone, and rather just be considered an exaggerated personification of the sin of gluttony as a concept based on the most recognizable and direct result of gluttonous behavior. Regardless I hope you have a good day and didn't mean to offend with my initial tone :)

There is an issue with the majority of fat characters in media being villainized for their weight and being tied to gluttony, even more so with villains. And the only fat villain in this group is a fat naked turtle. I can find that objectionable if I want to.

Wow I didn’t even think about that when the main bad guy crew dies. It would be wild if one of them wanted to bring back the Dread Queen, especially with how it could involve Jay as a vessel. I wonder if the stronger the desire person had the stronger it influences those who kill them. I also wonder if we would perhaps see some of Queen’s backstory if they manage to kill the violinist.

Actually, think it's very interesting that Cpt. Widow has a pretty strong interest in the sun goddess (or atleast I think she does lol) -- based on how she decided to pick a place that strongly worships Aster (based on how Star seems to be a cleric of Aster n Zamia casually carries around sun charms in her art) and her singling out of Jay (with her own muddy connections to Aster). Either way, this captain cool asf, she reminds me of Mephala in ESO ngl.

im super duper interested in how queen is involved with the bard and why they are so afraid of just the music alone, if they knew eachother before then makes me think that maybe queen somehow came from the black sea hmmmm. i’ve theorised that queen was involved with the dread queen before, so to see someone they probably knew be helping captain widow with her mission,, idk theres probably something there- would honestly love to see all of their backstories tho, maybe if albatrio actually manage to kill them for real, they’ll see their lives or get their desires like they did with those other goopy guys. either way, excited to learn more !! I think the violin player used to be on the same band as Queen and perhaps some event broke them apart, leading to Queen being cursed and the violinist joining the evil pirate crew. Who knows we may see some other members of the band at some point
