Same procedure as last time... we're trying to figure out how to wrap up our "first season" before taking July off*, and none of our options perfectly fit our current alien them and/or our Lostalike requirements, but we gotta do something. So please vote from among these choices! I've included a write-in option, but you should only pick that if you're ready to comment on this post with a slam dunk Lostalike about aliens that we've somehow missed thus far. Other than that, thanks for voring!
*Please note that during our July hiatus we won't be watching a full show or recording a main episode, but we WILL still be giving all our patrons a bonus episode. In fact, two bonus episodes, to make up for the fact that you're not getting early access and show notes that month. So get ready for two bonus episodes while we're on vacation.

late to this post but i watched all of under the dome with my dad so we could see how bad it would get. it has a mostly normal first season and then its latter two seasons go completely off the rails in bizarre ways. might be worth reading some wikipedia episode descriptions or something like that on the later episodes.

2024-05-26 23:07:03 +0000 UTCI know you are just covering the 1st season of under the dome, but can you mention some of the changes from the book? Its a fascinating example of a lostalike being crafted out of a book that didn't lend itself to that type of show. Its a pretty big book, but just reading a wikipedia summary is enough to tell how different it is. King tried writing versions of this book in the 70s and 80s, but he released the finished version in 2009. Therefore we got a story about a used Car Salesman, who is a stand in for George Bush, establishing a fascist state the second his town is cut off from the outside world. The ending is also pretty unique and I was furious about how it was replaced with a pretty generic mystery in the show. I really liked the source material, and I was pretty disappointed seeing King act like his ending and reveal of what put the dome down was worse than the show.
