Just want to say this and The Dark Knight were the biggest movies for me in 2008. I was 13 at the time and received both those DVD's as Christmas and birthday presents respectively. I still remember going quietly nuts when I discovered the TDK DVD under the tree on Christmas Eve. Great movies!

2019-01-02 22:47:29 +0000 UTCOkay, so my dad directed a film called View From The Top (mentioned by David in this ep “sexy stewardess film”) with Paltrow and Ruffalo. The (fun but not good) film (available on HBO GO now I think) is hilariously and tragically not what my dad signed on to make. Original script had no romance and no Ruffalo. It did have Paltrow framing someone for her murder of Applegate’s character and a slew of Mike Myers terrorism jokes. Short version of what happened between these versions is two fold: 9/11 & Harvey Weinstein. My dad took the project in 2000, then after it was in post in 2001, 9/11 happened and then Miramax chief Harvey wanted to change the film, two years of rewrites, reshoots, etc, View is dropped in Feb 2003 losing to Stephen King’s Dreamcatcher (Kasdan/Goldman poop monster movie with amazing eyebrows on Morgan freeman).
