Update 8-21-23 (Pacifica and Wendy)

Hi Gentle-folks,

As promised, I'm here to deliver an update on what's going on for the development team. The next supporter edition of this game is here to expand on Wendy and get us introduced to Pacifica, while also fleshing out the actual storytelling and introductory sequence.

Right now, the demo simply has gameplay, examples of dialogue, and a preview of what to expect. It's a little lacking in certain aspects, such as a menu button and a startup screen. I'll be fixing that come next patch. Other quality of life features such as the text will hopefully be worked out by then as well, but no promises in that department.

Then of course, we have Pacifica herself.

The NorthWest Mansion was an easy tease for us since we've already gotten started on how you'll be meeting her at the Greasy Diner. 


The introduction and the reason as to why you would travel there is still up in the air. While I would love to completely revamp the introduction, we still need to fill out some other elements of the game beforehand.

Once the greasy diner stuff is complete, we'll try to fit in some work with getting your character a base of operations. This will a small base you go to in order to check up on your quests, check out collectables that you've gathered along the way, and initiate some fun little smutty mini games. Those smutty mini games will probably be much later in development, most likely when we are able to go full time on this project.

Alongside the home base, we want to do a day and night cycle. Certain buildings will be available during the day vs the night as will certain interactions, etc etc.

Most important of all of this, however, we have to decide on the gameplay loop.

There's been a lot of discussion about the gameplay loop. I have some telling me that it's fun and needs a small revamp (making runes larger, having some indicator that you haven't found everything, etc) and others telling me that there needs to be something else.

I have a few ideas. Some ideas will naturally require more development time than others, but regardless of what I pick, I'll definitely be keeping the camera mechanic as I think it's fun to play with the camera's ability to see through clothes and window blinds like in the police station. The ideas are as follows:


1. Slight elements of trainer gameplay (most likely not going to push for this unless overwhelming majority of people really want this)

2. A shift where runes give you magical abilities to affect the overworld rather than just giving you magical power. In this version, quests give you magical power that ties into more story elements. You can't click on a girl with magic mode unless you're at a certain level of power, etc.

3. A different gameplay loop that might add to the experience.


Let me know what you think. If you have ideas for the loop, not about the game in general. I've been getting great ideas about scenarios and situations to use, but right now I want to focus on how to turn this game into a fun experience as well.

Would love more trainer elements. From what I've seen of the game I think it would fit well. But whatever you end up wanting to do with the game I'd be happy to see. Also love Pacifica's artwork. Looks so good! Keep up the amazing work
