Hunter x Hunter - Episode 130 Reaction EARLY ACCESS

i like shaia more than poof now that ive heard him say it a lot.

I also felt like Pouf's power came out of nowhere in this scene. It took me out of the moment the first time I watched it too. What's weird is that Welfin simply saying that he had secured Komugi probably would've been enough, there wasn't even really a need for Pouf to introduce a new ability.

IMO It is such a shame that you didn’t watch 130 and 131 back to back because 130 is supposed to set the mood for 131 which is arguably the best episode of the show (definitely other strong contenders as well) The thing about Pouf’s power is IMO not an asspull because characters don’t put their powers on display for no reason. Pouf is maniacal, manipulative and self serving in every way so it’s no stretch to believe he’d hide his powers from everyone to further his own interest. And btw why are you the only person in the world who calls him shaia when the series short name for him is clearly Pouf? Not a knock on you just curious :)

I didn’t see a problem with poufs ability lol he never really had the need to use it, it fits his character too hiding that power until now

Unfair is probably the wrong word to use. I learned English by myself on the internet so keep that in mind.

That's fair enough. But it's just an opinion that I have about the choice subjectively. I wasn't being unfair, I have consistently given this show credit for the writing. So I will naturally hold it in a higher regard to others. This one just didn't feel as natural a step as the rest of the show.

Just felt shoehorned in to me. No need to take it so hard. Sorry if it offended you but I am not going to lie and act like eveything is fantastic. I say what I feel.

I have to be honest I don't get what's so unbelievable about shia mimicking someone's voice. Seems like a basic ability. You seemed very nitpicky and unfair in this discussion, just the vibe I got.

Shaia's new power just came out of left field at the most convenient time though. That was my issue with it, I'd have preferred if they set that up previously.

I don't think Pouf's powers are too crazy, you can do a lot of things with Nen combined with his ant stuff and cell rearranging. I mean we literally had a girl who could tell the future, convincing impressions is definitely a step down. Even Morel can make his smoke puppets look like entirely different people, and he spoke to Cheetu as one of his clones inside the Tag place before coming up behind him, so they can presumably speak as someone else too. It's a pretty versatile power-system, limited apparently only be the users imagination and the rules they set for themselves within their proficiency. The Kiriko magical beasts in like Episode 2 also transformed into Leorio and spoke exactly like him to Kurapika, so even without Nen there's precedent for the ability. As for the other inconsistencies, APR just stops ticking interest when it's too far, but it always exists. Cheetu was miles away and it never left, Knuckle just doesn't want to get close enough for it to activate again, since Youpi seems to know how it works now. It was the same reason he was worried Cheetu would change direction the second the interest was called out when he and Shoot were trying to ambush him on the road. I'd say Meruem probably wouldn't fly to the tower right away just because he has no idea what it is he even needs to remember, or that there would be any urgency, we only do because we can see Pouf is doing shit and Komugi is really important to us. He's just looking around the palace on his way, trying to remember anything he can. I don't think he knows anything right now except who Pouf and Youpi are, and that he's supposed to rule these people out front.

Also because he's used to getting things his way and always finding a way to get what he wants up till this point.

Youre right, its more about Gon's fixation and inabillity to accept the truth . Because Gon is a pretty selfish kid with a fucked up moral compass. During the series we see Gon being denied very rarely , and even when that happens he tries to go around it in some fashion. Gon actually finally sees Kite being dead before his own eyes and due to how his mind is wired it is still very hard for him to accept that . Not because they had some kind of deep connection ,but more of how Gon as a character is and how he is writting since the start of the show . It's also a bit more symbolic /thematic piece of a shounen writing when protagonist loses someone and how it affects his psyche

Edgar

In the manga, they introduce Kite in the beginning. He tells Gon about Ging and then gives Ging's license to him. I'm guessing Gon didn't want Ging to think less of him for being the reason Kite was killed since Ging was Kite's teacher. That, and having the optimism that Kite would ultimately be alright, is what makes me think he feels so devastated.
