Hunter x Hunter - Episode 73 Reaction EARLY ACCESS

You can usually gauge a character's strength from several factors, one of them being their abilities. The Bombers' Countdown is pretty powerful, being able to blow someone up (despite their Nen defences) by merely touching them, the only condition being he has to explain how it works to his victim. Bisky made her judgement of Genthru's strength based on this. Keep in mind that Gon and Killua aren't all that advanced yet in Nen. They barely have any Hatsu and they've only known advanced techniques like Ken and Ryu for a few months. And even in terms of aura capacity alone, Genthru's been using Nen for much longer than they have, far more training with Ten and Ren, and so likely has significantly greater capacity.

Pretty much what Simon said above. With HxH you always have to keep in mind that, while Gon and Killua are real prodigies, they've only recently started learning Nen and they are both only 12 (or maybe 13 at this point) years old. So compared to people like Genthru and Tsezguerra they're obviously more talented and will easily surpass them eventually, but at the moment they're still vastly behind in experience which is a huge deal in Nen fights.

Yeah I can see that point, he was the primary villain but he wasn't prominent 24/7 like the others

While it is true that Genthru has been using mostly cheap strategies, remember that Tsezguerra didn't dare to challenge him directly and instead used hit-and-run tactics. According to Tsezguerra's assessment, while Gon and Killua has him beat in things like speed and agility he is still stronger in terms of overall combat ability. Not that ot's odd to underestimate him before now, I did too, but his strength doesn't contradict previous information. I definitely agree that Genthru doesn't have any of the presence that for example The Zoldycks and the Phantom Troupe had though, he's usually regarded as one of the weaker villains. HOwever in my opinion it doesn't matter too much, since unlike them he's not really the focus of the arc he's starring in. Up until now he has mostly been doing his own thing in the background and been an obstacle they would have to face one day, but the actual focus has been on things like Bisky, the nen training, the dodgeball match and the game itself.
