He didn't come back to get Yuzhen back, but he came back to help Yuzhen get over the past and move forward with his present couple, which is Shi Lei. What his ex did really sent mixed signals to all of us, but after watching episode 12, I realized he was doing that on purpose for Yuzhen to be true to his own heart, also to get rid of the Single Rule that he made up in the beginning.
