FATE/ZERO 1x11 Reaction EARLY ACCESS

Archers a dictator like Rider but he isn't a conquer from what I remember and however unlike Rider and from what I gathered from his legends and his character here, more like Saber he did believe in the solitude and a king standing on his own.

When comes the next episode? :)

I believe the Holy Grail being within his arsenal does make sense because, like you said, it contains the original artifacts. The Holy Grail did not have the power it now possesses while it was in Gilgamesh's collection. Which also explains why Gilgamesh doesn't know where in his collection it is. While he was alive, it was just a fancy cup.

To answer your question about how Gilgamesh can just BAMF things out of those portals: Gilgamesh was the world's First King, and because of this, his Noble Phantasm, The Gate of Babylon contains EVERY SINGLE treasure, weapon, magic, technology, or item of value crafted by human ingenuity in existence (yes, this includes nuclear warheads, but he doesn't use them because if he did the show would last like two minutes). He even has the Holy Grail and spare Command Seals from previous wars within his treasury, which doesn't make any sense, but whatever it's anime. That's why he always says that "everything in the world belongs to him", because everything of value in the world draws its origins to his treasury. This is part of the reason why Gilgamesh is stated by the creator of Fate to be "the strongest Heroic Spirit". It's because his treasury has an answer for any opponent or problem he faces. The Gate of Babylon contains the prototypes and originals of every Servant's Noble Phantasm, and in the Fate universe, the originals are always stronger.

The banquet of kings is by far my favorite scene in any Fate franchise. The clash of ideologies is EVERYTHING. Whats most interesting about the dialogue is that none of them is 100% correct. Saber is naive and overly idealistic. She babied her subjects and as a result the country crumbled without her. Rider is a bloodthirsty tyrant who prioritized glory over the prosperity of his people. And Gilgamesh...is Gilgamesh. In my opinion, a split between saber and riders mentality with a tiny bit of Gilgamesh’s arrogance is correct

Polygon

Had the same problem. Multiple points where skipped. Including the whole scene wher Tokiomi says Kirei to send the Assassins.

Yea, that is how I'd take it as well. Rider is basically saying, the last person standing will be worthy and win the Grail, either by being acknowledged by the other servants as being the one who should use it, or by defeating all other servants.

16:30 It's kind of complicated, but I think what they were trying to get across is that the Holy Grail War itself IS the Grail's method for determining who is worthy of having it.

Sabers way of the king involves being the protector of the ppl, sacrificing ones life for the sake of the country. Rides way of the king involves being an icon and leader of the ppl, becoming pretty much like a god that his ppl can look up to and able to follow. Archers way of the king is to stand above all and enforce the laws that he placed, a supreme ruler of order. Each are an aspect of a king and arent wrong just imperfect. The issue with sabers path was that she felt more like a knight of justice rather than a king that leads the ppl. rather than connecting with her ppl she simply protected them almost like a puppet. rider isnt saying to forsake the ppl but a king needs to inspire his ppl not be a simple protector to them. then theres archer lol hes more like a king of kings, a tyrant among kings. he views his ppl as servants he will protect his ppl but never will he lower himself to their level. also idk if its the servers but around the middle of the full length i wanst able to keep in sync. its as if the episode had scenes cut out from your full length. this episode is slightly longer than most 29 min on the server i was watchin on.

Since I don't think you looked him up yet, Assassin is Hassan-i Sabbah. If you want to check him out. Also, a Reality Marble is huge because it is actually achievable with magic and one of the most taboo of magics. You are making a thought into reality. It is like encroaching on the power of God to create humanity. Rider's doesn't actually create people, but it does use the same power as the Grail to summon the dead (Heroic Spirits). Very powerful.

Waver actually said something here which I didn't realize until I learned this from Fate/Grand Order. This assassin, Hassan of Hundred Personas, had multiple personality disorder and that's why there are multiple versions of them. I love that the Fate universe has little details like that.

Saber isn't really British in any modern definition. Camelot was a Celtic kingdom, and the Celts were mainly wiped out or assimilated after her time in this universe.

Riders criticism essentially boils down to Saber being obsessed with her ideology, so she gets to be the perfect saint who will nobly fight and her followers just get to fail to follow her properly. There is a reason Catholics have confession, so the endeavor to be Christ-like in life doesn't crush you under the weight of your failure towards that ideal. Imagine having the embodiment of all of your virtues leading you how crushing it would be to be only human in the face of that. So Rider embraces vice and virtue to their greatest extent for the sake of those who follow him. As far as Archer is concerned just watch his dialogue carefully and the show will reveal his perspectives, a great deal was shown here but it's difficult to explore it.
