I think something that needs to be pointed out when you say "she is acting a bit like a kid" its because she basically is. Some quick math show she is at the oldest about 17 here. To put it in perspective how young that is akane is like 4 and a bit years older than her (and was therefore 21 - roughly about 22 here its hard to tell there aren't exact dates for when everything is happening - when she joined in season 1. And you remember how young everyone treated her and how fast she had to grow up) Edit: So the fact she still has some slightly less than subtle childlike attributes could be considered good character writing :)
