i think the chances of it being a movie is high BUT i am rly hoping on the 0.1% chance of this movie being a prelude to a 3rd season. the one thing that gives me hope for a 3rd season is the fact that lelouch's va isnt listed on myanimelist for the movie while every1 is. this could just be a minor fact that mal might hav left out BUT in the off chance that lelouchs voice actor wasnt needed in the movie means perhaps lelouch only appears at the end thus not needing to speak at all hence perhaps a 3rd season. a big stretch i know lol but one can only hope.

From what I can tell, they made 3 recap movies in preparation for season 3, but those movies actually turned out to be retcons / take place in an alternate timeline. Now season 3, which they decided to just turn into a fourth movie, is going to take place in this new timeline, disregarding a lot of the shit that happened in the main series. So for now I would just pretend like it doesn't exist and treat season 2/ the Akito OVAs as the end of the series, like we all did.
