EP.259. [An Enemy Appears Before Eugene Schneider, Now Even Stronger After Sex With His Big Sister.]

“Really???”

After the temporary defense force meeting, Charlotte started a private conversation with Eugene, her eyes wide with surprise.

“Yes, that’s right, sis. There’s an elf among my mercenary companions, and that elf confirmed it. We believe monsters are coming through dimensional rifts.”

Eugene Schneider, who had appeared at the meeting saying he knew the reason for the exponential increase in monsters, explained to Charlotte about the existence of dimensional rifts.

He chose to share this with Charlotte in private, not in the meeting attended by Commander Memphis and Deputy Commander Donovan. This was because Charlotte, as a bishop-nun of the Holy See-the most transcendent group in the empire-had access to all sorts of secrets from a young age. Yet even she was shocked at the mention of a dimensional rift, a phenomenon usually only spoken of in legends. If he had brought it up officially, the defense force would have panicked even more. Eugene, anticipating this, confided only in Charlotte.

‘So that explains why two owlbears appeared…’

Charlotte, initially stunned, quickly started to analyze the situation. Officially, Memphis was the commander, but in reality, Charlotte held the operational authority of the Bahad Defense Force, especially since the enemy was monsters, not humans. The appearance of two owlbears was particularly inexplicable, far beyond the usual monster outbreaks. She had planned to discuss it with her mother, Grand Duchess Marianne, upon her return. But Eugene’s theory about dimensional rifts made sense of it all.

‘But if that’s the case, then the situation will keep getting worse beyond what our analysis can handle!’

Even though they now knew the cause, there was no clear solution. The Holy See did not recognize dimensional rifts as more than heresy and had no effective countermeasures.

“So the Holy See doesn’t have a way to deal with dimensional rifts, right, sis?”

Eugene’s gaze showed he already understood Charlotte’s predicament.

“There’s a holy relic called the Goddess’s Mirror at the main cathedral. According to records, it was used to seal a dimensional rift during the last Demon King’s appearance, but that’s just a legend. If we were at the main cathedral, we could at least try, but here it’s basically useless.”

Charlotte shook her head, looking troubled. The Goddess’s Mirror was said to have sealed a rift in the past, but that was just an old record.

“I see, so that’s the situation.”

Eugene nodded calmly, despite the dire circumstances.

“But earlier, you said you might know a solution. Is that really true?”

He had his own solution. Charlotte, having sensed this at the meeting, asked cautiously.

“I definitely have one, sis. It’s hard to explain, so I’ll show you directly.”

With a subtle smile, Eugene projected confidence to Charlotte.

Two days later, Eugene Schneider stood atop the front-line barricade, looking out at the mass of monsters. Behind him, Charlotte led the armed battle nuns of the Radiant Goddess Association.

“It looks like monsters have been gathering there longer than elsewhere. I think the dimensional rift is probably there.”

Eugene pointed out the suspected rift location. He had already explained to Charlotte that the rift was the root of the current crisis and that he had a way to deal with it. There was no reason to delay, so the first step was to identify the rift’s location, using both the defense force’s data and his own mercenary experience.

“Let’s get started. To clear out the monsters in the square before sunset as planned, we need to start cutting through them now.”

Swoooosh...!!

Eugene summoned his greatsword from his inventory.

In Bahad, there were two main concentrations of monsters: the square and the suspected rift site. Eugene’s group would take a shortcut to strike the rift, while the defense force would hold off monsters at the square to prevent them from joining up. The defense force could only hold for about half a day, so Eugene needed to finish his mission quickly and then reinforce them.

“Glory to the Lord!!!”

Following the shortcut, Eugene’s party quickly moved to the first quest site. As monsters came into view, the nuns formed up for battle: about 40 holy crossbow nuns in the rear and 10 melee nuns with maces and flails in the front, shouting their battle cries.

“-Kieeeeeeeeh???”

“-Kreeeeeh???”

The monsters turned their heads at the nuns’ shouts.

Crossbows fired!!!

-Papapapapapapap! -Papapapapapapap!

A hail of holy bolts rained down on the monsters.

-Pwooorgh! Pock! Pofopofopofok! Pwooorgh! Pofopofopofok!

“Kieeeh!” “Kreeeh!” “Kieeeeeh!!”

The narrow shortcut allowed for concentrated fire, and every holy bolt pierced a monster’s head or heart. The small fry were cleared out quickly.

“Whoa... even those guys crossed over?”

Eugene’s attention was caught by some heavier monsters.

“-Kwoooooooh!!!!”

“Golems tainted by demonic energy, mutant golems.”

These were top-tier mid-level monsters, purple-skinned mutant golems.

“Nuns, I’ll handle the mutant golems. Senior nuns, keep other monsters from getting close.”

Thunk!

With his greatsword on his shoulder, Eugene gave orders to the nuns. The battlefield was too narrow for everyone to fight together, but it was perfect for Eugene to unleash his power and keep variables to a minimum.

“Understood. We’ll hold our line. Be careful, Greatsword Eugene.”

Thunk!

Charlotte, gripping her flail, nodded.

“Then, I’m off!”

-Fwoooosh!!!

Eugene charged explosively into the monster horde. Holy arrows from the rear nuns provided covering fire.

-Pwaaagh! -Pwoooorgh!!

Eugene’s greatsword swept aside the monsters blocking his path, opening a route to the mutant golems.

-Swoooosh!!!

Using superb mana footwork, he plunged into the midst of about fifteen mutant golems.

‘Enemy line breached.’

-Thunk!!

He moved so fast that the golems barely registered his presence. Eugene braced his legs and readied his sword.

“Great Wind Slash [大風斬]!!!!”

-Bwaaaaaaaah!!!!

With a fierce expression, Eugene unleashed his technique, swinging his greatsword in a nearly 270-degree arc.

“Whoa! Amazing, Sister Charlotte! Look at Greatsword Eugene!”

Carmen, a nun fighting with Charlotte, was astonished.

“Such afterimages! I’d heard he was a Sword Seeker, but I didn’t know he was this skilled!”

Eugene’s sword left fierce mana afterimages-a signature of Sword Seeker-level warriors. Such afterimages appear only when a swordsman’s power and speed reach an extraordinary level.

“Mmm, I heard he’d been training hard, but this is surprising even to me.”

Charlotte, at the front of the nun group, tried to keep her composure.

‘He said in his letters he was still inexperienced as a Sword Seeker, but he’s already reached this level???’

She was shocked at how much Eugene’s abilities had surpassed her expectations.

‘Wow! Even better than when I practiced this morning! My Sword Seeker mana control is on another level compared to before!’

This was thanks to the unique buff Eugene received from having explosive sex with Charlotte, who possessed overwhelming holy power.

-Pwoooorgh! -Pwoooorgh! -Pwoooorgh!

‘At this rate, I might finish this faster than expected.’

The mutant golems, thought to be formidable, were being cut down rapidly.

But then-

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

With a tremendous sound of footsteps,

The ground began to shake.
