EP.57 Dragon and Dungeon – 3 

A battle between dragons. 

Even though one side was a zombie brought back from the dead, Leia was also weakened, making the fight fierce. 

“You arrogant corpse.” 

Fwoosh-! 

A tremendous flame burst from Leia’s massive jaws. 

Dragon breath. 

A powerful breath that burns everything in its path, directed at Keltron. 

“That’s something you can only say for now.” 

Keltron, true to his dragon nature, opened his huge, decaying maw and unleashed his own breath. 

His dragon breath, quite different from Leia’s, melted even solid stone wherever it struck the terrain. 

The two different types of dragon breath collided in midair, twisting and scattering in all directions. 

Just a single exchange of attacks transformed the surrounding terrain into a barren wasteland. 

“Is there even a place for me to intervene here?” 

Just as Leia told me to hide, there was no opening for me to get involved. 

If I recklessly jumped in, I’d either be melted or burned alive. 

For now, I should observe the situation. 

“Looks like you’re having a harder time than expected.” 

“I’ll tear that filthy mouth of yours apart right now.” 

But the fierce battle wasn’t going as I’d hoped. 

A fight between dragons isn’t about technique-it’s an overwhelming contest of raw power. 

Leia’s movements and breath, weakened by the barrier, were gradually losing strength after repeated clashes. 

“I guess I have to do something.” 

At this rate, Leia was bound to lose. 

If that happened, the Demon King would triumphantly make another zombie dragon. 

Just one of these creatures had overwhelming power-if there were two, they could easily devastate an entire country. 

“I thought I could just watch from the sidelines this time, but life never goes that smoothly.” 

Shing- 

I draw the sword bestowed upon me by the kingdom. 

The famed sword ‘Hrunting.’ 

Compared to Keltron’s massive body, it’s no more than a toothpick. 

In the past, I would have struggled to fight with it, but now things are different. 

I pour much more mana than usual into the sword. 

A blue aura slowly extends from the blade. If I unleash all my mana in a single strike, I might be able to hurt even that giant dragon. 

I watch Leia and Keltron’s melee. 

With each short breath attack, red and dark scales accumulate more wounds. 

To land a hit, I’ll have to dive into that fierce battle. 

“Haa…” 

It feels like I’ve been sighing more and more since coming to this world. 

If I take a direct hit from a breath attack, I’ll die instantly. 

There’s no way my body could withstand attacks that even injure dragon scales. 

“Still, I have to go.” 

If I hesitate and Leia falls, there won’t even be a chance. 

After some deliberation, I move forward with heavy steps. 

Very quietly, but as quickly as possible. 

Fortunately, Keltron is so focused on Leia that he doesn’t even notice a mere human like me. 

“Your corpse will be put to good use by our Demon King’s army.” 

To him, I’m just an arrogant insect. 

No-maybe I’m not even worth thinking about. 

Ordinary humans can’t even stand here because of the barrier. 

But complacency always leads to disaster. 

Thud! Thud! Fwoosh-! 

Just as I quietly approach Keltron from behind, he sweeps Leia down with his tail and blasts her with his breath. 

Her beautiful red scales, once gleaming, are blackened by the chilling, dark breath. 

“Graaaaah!!” 

Leia’s scream echoes through the dungeon. 

There’s no time to waste. 

As I think this, Keltron spins his body again to finish her off. 

Whoosh-! 

A massive tail comes flying toward my head. 

I raise my sword to the sky and pour in as much mana as I can. 

“…!” 

Keltron is startled by the sudden appearance of a massive blade of energy. 

But it’s too late. 

His heavy, powerful tail is already on its set course. 

I put all my strength into slashing the incoming tail. 

Slash-! 

With a satisfying sensation, the huge tail is cleanly severed. 

The combination of his force and mine made it surprisingly easy to cut through. 

The severed tail crashes into the wall, and the unbalanced Keltron tumbles clumsily to the ground. 

Thud-! Rumble-! 

“You arrogant little rat!!” 

His voice, full of rage, rings in my ears. 

He must not even feel pain. 

But a lizard flailing on the ground has no dignity. 

“You should have watched your feet.” 

As Keltron tries to get up, Leia, now in human form, is already chanting a spell. 

A dazzling light envelops us, and Keltron’s figure grows blurry. 

At the same time, the scenery changes. 

Leia’s teleportation magic. 

After a moment, the surroundings become clear again, and Keltron is nowhere to be seen. 

But the stone walls tell me we’re still inside the dungeon. 

“Are you all right?” 

Leia is standing with difficulty. 

She doesn’t look well at all. 

Even though she’s in human form and shows no wounds, that doesn’t mean she’s unharmed. 

“Haa… haa… Thanks to you, I survived. If you hadn’t blocked that attack, I would have suffered the humiliation of being toyed with by the Demon King.” 

She lets out a heavy breath and, surprisingly, thanks me in a calm tone. 

Leia’s manner is oddly gentle. 

A dragon wouldn’t go soft just because of an injury, so she must genuinely feel grateful for having her life saved. 

“Should we retreat for now?” 

We can’t push forward in this state. 

The damage she just took isn’t something she can recover from quickly. 

She herself said she would have died, so it must be a serious wound. 

“That might be difficult. The barrier is stronger than I thought, so teleportation is blocked. And it looks like the entrance was sealed during the fight.” 

Leia checks something like a magical map and speaks with a grim expression. 

The idea that retreat is impossible makes my face twist up. 

I trusted her and followed her in here, but now we can’t even escape. 

If she were at full strength, maybe we could get out, but right now, it’s definitely impossible. 

“This isn’t good.” 

“If we could get to the center of the barrier-where we just were-we could break it, but to do that, we’d have to defeat him first.” 

A wounded dragon and a human who could only manage to cut off a tail with all his strength. 

Can the two of us really take him down? 

Now that I’ve hurt him once, he’ll be on guard. 

And I can’t pull off another massive attack like that today. 

“At least he’s too big to come this far.” 

Except for the huge chamber where Keltron is, most of the dungeon is too cramped for his body. 

If he tries to force his way through, he could get stuck and become vulnerable, so he can’t move recklessly. 

Plus, I did manage to wound him, even if it was just his tail. 

“So we have time.” 

“How bad is your injury?” 

“Because of the barrier, I can’t expect much recovery until we get out of here.” 

I thought if she could heal, we might have a chance since we cut off his tail. 

Wait a minute… 

Maybe this is actually a good thing. 

There’s only one option left. 

I need to use my trait to grow as strong as possible. 

Even in this worst-case scenario, my libido was perfectly fine. 

“Then I have an idea.” 

“What is it?” 

“I’ll use the ability I told you about before. If I get stronger and we combine our strength, maybe we can win.” 

I watch Leia’s reaction carefully. 

As expected, she doesn’t object at all.

Leia, unable to read my true intentions, nods in agreement. 

“It’s your area of expertise, so you must know best.”

I’ve survived this far on just this one thing.
