EP.185 Juju (Sorcery) 2

After mixing our bodies briefly and intensely, a more serious mood settled in.

Nabi, who was more earnest about sorcery than anyone, and I, who wanted to learn about sorcery to help my family

for the first time, our interests aligned on something other than sex.

“Sorcery is the manipulation and inversion of the world’s rules. And to bring about such things always requires some energy expenditure.”

That energy is yin energy. Not just sorcery, but martial arts too, use yin energy as their source.

“You may not know, but the women of the Cheon clan have long had a formidable enemy. To oppose them, a tightly-knit group comprised only of women was necessary.”

That’s why all the techniques developed to harness the unique energy of women.

Beyond that, Nabi explained the basics of sorcery in detail, and I engraved them in my mind.

“When using sorcery, the most important thing is intention. But you must hold an intention that doesn’t violate the laws of nature.”

For example, you can’t use sorcery to make cold fire, or to raise the dead any magic that goes against reason is impossible.

“I read nearly every book on Munyeosan for your sake. I honestly didn’t sleep a wink.”

“Thank you.”

I sincerely thanked her.

She didn’t know that the sorcery she was teaching me would be used to bring down her own homeland.

Of course, Nabi had no idea. I forced myself to ignore the guilt that pricked at my conscience and kept my composure.

“But thanks to that, I was able to achieve a lot for myself too. By reviewing everything from the basics, I was able to progress another step.”

Anyway

“Here. I collected only the basic sorcery you’ll find useful.”

“Ohh.”

I took the booklet Nabi handed me and examined it. As she’d said, there wasn’t much in there.

Regardless of her efforts, I felt a slightly rising sense of disappointment.

“But even advanced sorcery is ultimately derived from the basics. If you study steadily, you’ll be able to master or even create spells on your own over time.”

“By myself?”

“Yes. Unfortunately, that’s all the approval I could get from the shaman.”

Oh. For a moment, after all that talk about being my “teacher,” I thought Nabi was going to teach me directly.

“…I see.”

“Don’t be too disheartened. Even this much is already unprecedented.”

I nodded quietly in agreement. I wasn’t from a branch family; I was a man, not even a recognized member at all. For Nabi to go to the shaman and negotiate this, and for the shaman to grant me any kind of fundamental knowledge, was already a huge stretch.

“So, what does the shaman want from me?”

“You caught on.”

“You don’t even need to call it ‘catching on.’ Of course, there’s going to be a price.”

I didn’t expect to get this kind of privilege for nothing.

“What you need to do is simple.”

But while she said it was simple, her expression wasn’t she looked pretty nervous, as if she were worried I might refuse.

“You’re going to mate with many women here and sow your seed. The children born between you and our superb clan women will surely be the finest of their generation.”

“Would make sense.”

Not only did they have great genes, but the Cheon clan women were improved through sorcery from birth.

On top of that, my own body had been enhanced through supernatural means.

If a child was born between the two, they would be off the charts. I didn’t know about intelligence or athleticism, but at least, looks-wise, they’d be the best.

“Of course, you know that any girls born will be raised here on Munyeosan… right?”

“Yeah, I know that.”

So what is she prepping me to hear with all this?

“If a boy is born, he’s sent away outside? I thought he was raised by the father or something?”

Nabi nodded, her expression becoming more serious now she was getting to the real point.

“If you ever father a son, he will also have to live here as a stud.”

“……What?”

“Of course, you’ll also have to live here the rest of your life.”

That froze my face.

“So, what do you think? Will you still study sorcery?”

**

I said I needed time to think, and got lost in deep thought. Nabi considered whether to offer advice, but then stopped.

Honestly, she wanted me to accept right away.

For a man, there was nothing to lose in this deal.

You’d live here forever, having sex with ageless beauties.

You could have to yourself women no one else could ever have had.

She herself, who’d only seen me a few times, already felt quite drawn to me. If she was already this smitten, the other women might pledge not just their bodies but their hearts to me as well.

That’s why she was a bit taken aback when I asked for time. But she was also pleased.

This was a moment where her own future was going to be decided by my answer. Of course a wise man would take the time to think carefully.

And she was happy that Jihan was that kind of wise man.

The reason for her panic was anxiety that Jihan’s feelings might be different from hers.

She’d grown fond of him and was happy at the idea of living together forever.

When the shaman made that demand, she’d silently cheered inside. But why did this man hesitate?

‘Am I not as attractive as I thought?’

She even started to have such useless thoughts.

“…….”

She watched him with deep eyes, observing him thoughtfully.

His thick fingers manfully stroked his sharp jawline.

His usually bright eyes were gently closed, and his throat made quiet “hm…” sounds an Adam’s apple that made her think about sucking.

That was all Nabi could read just his appearance. She couldn’t see into his heart.

Still, she stared at him intently, nerves quietly fraying as she waited for his answer.

About thirty minutes later, Jihan’s mouth moved a few times, then opened wide and when his answer finally came out, she was overjoyed.

**

“All right, I’ll do it.”

“R-really?!!”

Nabi’s eyes went wide with joy, then she became shy as I stared at her.

She was embarrassed at having shown so much happiness all at once from my answer.

She was so happy her composure broke, her joy was visible all over her face.

She just curled her lips into a soundless smile, then spoke again.

“But I’m curious about something.”

“What is it?”

At the word “curious,” she switched back to her calm demeanor it was a sharp contrast from her girlish look a moment ago.

“Unlike the other women here, if I get old I’ll quickly become an old man and then a grandpa, so is there any point in me living here forever? Is it just so your sorcery knowledge won’t go outside?”

“That’s true too, but that’s not the only reason.”

She rolled her eyes, thinking for a moment, then said, “Well, it doesn’t really matter anymore.”

“Do you remember what I said before? That our clan has long had an enemy.”

“……Yeah. I could never forget.”

At my subtle answer, she replied with a confident voice.

“Of course. Even I part of these extraordinary women of Munyeosan find it hard to believe there’s an opponent out there to match us.”

“……Right.”

That pride was at least justified.

“We have always only accepted women to stand against them. But soon that won’t be necessary anymore.”

My expression went cold.

“What… do you mean?”

“We’ve found clues to the ones who have long avoided us and gone into hiding. We haven’t pinpointed their exact location, but we’ve narrowed down the candidates a lot.”

My heart dropped. Since when?

Without knowing it, my breath came short, but Nabi was too excited to notice my distress.

Judging by the gleam in her eyes, maybe she was picturing ripping succubi to shreds. I quickly caught my breath before her ruthless pupils turned on me.

My trembling hand dropped out of sight beneath the desk.

“…So. Since you’ll be able to wipe out the enemy soon, there’s no longer a need to accept only women?”

“You catch on fast. Hehe! Clever boy.”

She smiled at me like I was already one of the clan.

“If you’re accepted as the clan’s first man, then using sorcery to keep yourself young is easy.”

Nabi rushed to finish, as if worried I’d change my mind.

Any other man would already be hooked eternal youth and endless beauties, surely bliss.

“But there must be tradition? If it’s always been only women, having men in here must…”

“Oh, it’s not a total opening. Only you and your male descendants would be accepted into the clan. Daughters to the mothers, sons to you.”

“…….”

“Well?”

Our eyes met. In the warmth and hope of her gaze, a cruel sense of mission stirred.

“Aren’t you happy?”

That look seemed almost as if she was testing me.

“…….”

I couldn’t help but avert my gaze.

**

Step, step.

I wasn’t even sure how I made it back to the stud barn. The words I’d just heard kept circling in my mind.

They’d narrowed down the possible locations of the succubi. For a family that’s been hiding since long before Nabi was born…

If Nabi got this excited without ever actually meeting a succubus, it must mean they’d found something pretty significant.

“…Maybe I shouldn’t have wasted time learning martial arts and sorcery.”

A sarcastic, self-deprecating laugh escaped me.

Shouldn’t I be getting as many of the succubus warriors pregnant as possible, instead of this?

In the end, Sera's advice that I should just do what I’m best at was almost certainly the right answer.

“I shouldn’t have been wasting time trying to be helpful in half-assed ways.”

I clenched my fist. In it was the booklet on sorcery I'd gotten from Nabi.
