I’ve been waiting for this part; for you to find out more about Merlin’s character. Merlin is half-incubus, so he doesn’t have any human emotions. His character materials state that he does admire humanity, but in the way that would would admire a painting, or other piece of art. His true nature is very dark and very scary, but he fights his nature by feeding off the emotions of humanity and emulating them. It’s not that he doesn’t want to love, but that he literally can’t. Think of it as something like a mental illness. Despite all that, he tries his best to do his best. Despite what he says, he is actually a really good person, because he doesn’t let his nature take over and works hard to be good. I love his character.
