Layers for lineart.

I usually don't use too many layers for both comic art and semi-realistic art. I find it too confusing if I have more than 4-5.

For lineart, it is usually three layers: borders, characters, and background.

I add layers from time to time when I need to add some details that I am not sure about (the one that might mess up all the work), and if I like it enough, I merge them with the main layer.

Like this process of drawing the hair: if the character has dark hair, I block the main mass with black, create a new layer and use a thin white brush to create the highlights. If I like how it turned out, I merge with the main layer.

A little thing I've learned this time: TASM Peter has a very nice texture, and for creating this in comic book art, I changed the layer property to texture: this way when you color it with gray, instead of color, it turns out into this textured effect.

Since CSP is created for comic book and manga making, it has this tone option for mimicking the screentones usually used for manga.

It's a bit tricky and takes a long time, but fun nonetheless :)

Damn, this looks so hard.

Clever! I love seeing how art comes together!

I add them when I need to add effects like multiple or something, but as soon as I like how it looks, I merge them :D

You working with 4-5 layers max and me over here with 50-80 depending on the drawing 😂🤪
